Our manufacturing team at our facility in Goleta, CA is looking for a CNC & EDM Programmer/Operator.\nSUMMARY\nThe CNC & EDM Programmer/Operator supports the Toolroom by fabricating precision components that meet specifications for stamping dies and fixtures using conventional and CNC machining, wire and sinker EDM, grinding and polishing. This individual will have the opportunity to train and grow into a Toolmaker role by working closely with and learning from Toolmakers and Tool Designers.\nREQUIREMENTS, ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nAs follows. Other duties may be assigned.\nRequires knowledge of and experience running wire EDM machines; experience with conventions/sinker EDM also preferred.\nRequires general knowledge of vertical machining centers.\nRequires CNC program software experience.\nSets up and operates all basic machine tools, mills, lathes, grinders, and machinist hand tools.\nCapability to grind die components to +/-.0001” tolerance on tool steel and carbide strongly preferred.\nKnowledge of shop inspection procedures, mechanical, optical and computer assisted measuring equiment.\nUnderstanding of SPC manufacturing environment.\nRequires general knowledge of various tool steels and their application.\nGeneral Knowledge of jigs and fixtures, automated machinery and basic shop machine maintenance.\nAnalyzes and interprets specifications, including blue prints, engineering sketches and verbal information.\nFabricates and optimizes tooling components and parts in dynamic development environment through manual and CNC machining, conventional EDM and grinding while interfacing with toolmakers, pressroom and quality.\nSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES\nNone\nQUALIFICATIONS\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Extended periods of standing may be required.
