Other duties may be assigned.\n\nEvaluation of speech impaired individuals.\nFormulation of a treatment program based on data obtained through the evaluation process.\nTreatment of students through use of appropriate therapeutic techniques.\nCommunication of therapeutic procedures to parent, teachers and other staff members.\nAttendance at meetings with other staff members in order to convey and receive information concerning student care.\nParticipation in in-services.\nRecords student status, therapeutic interventions recommended.\nConsultation with equipment technicians and other vendors.\nProviding appropriate specifications and input for communication devices.\nOversees and reviews the supervision of students and CFY candidates.\nTo provide a safe, supervised nurturing environment to the students we serve.\nSupervision of clinics or participation on committees as assigned by the Director of Educational Services/designee or Clinical Supervisor.\nAll required documentation and paperwork completed in a thorough and timely manner.\nAll other duties pertaining to this position as assigned by the Director of Educational Services, or designee.\nMay be required to visit the home of a student at any time, should the need arise. After receiving the permission of the Director of Educational Services/Principal or Clinical Supervisor, the therapist should make their own arrangements with the family.\nTraining and in-servicing employees in work related functions.\nProvides support to all departmental staff.\nResponsible to ensure updated and accurate prescriptions are maintained for each student on their current caseload.\n\nSupervisory Responsibilities\n\nClinical supervision of CFY's, Students and observational volunteers in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.\n\nQualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.\n\nMathematical Skills\n\nAbility to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. As well as ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.\n\nReasoning Ability\n\nAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.\n\nCertificates, Licenses, Registrations\n\nCertification by the American Speech/Language Hearing Association.\n\nNew York State Licensure.\n\nNew York State Department of Education Certificate as Teacher of the Speech and Language Handicapped.\n\nPhysical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
