The Component Engineer is also responsible for qualification of electronic components for use in extreme, high-reliability environments.The primary responsibilities of a Component Engineer include (but are not limited to):\nIdentifying new technology components SOC/IC by keeping up to date on industry developments and trends\nIdentifying technologies matching specific hardware requirements and environments (ex. uC synchronization in a downhole environment)\nDeveloping and executing component qualification plans for new or unqualified technologies for high reliability applications\nInterfacing with internal and external failure analysis (FA) labs to investigate root cause failure and providing recommendations to product groups based on the findings\nManaging communications between technology product teams, supply chain, and supporting technology groups (ex. Design for Test, Design for Manufacturing, process knowledge centers)\nAdvising design engineers in the selection of electronic components based on the electrical performance requirements, proper component usage based on the application environment (i.e electrical de-rating), and overall reliability.\nAssisting with obsolescence reviews for existing designs\nReviewing quality test reports of packaged components and/or dies\nProviding technical assistance to contracted tests labs and manufacturers\nEmployees/Contractors may be assigned other duties in addition to or in lieu of those described above, and any duties are subject to change at any time according to the needs of the company.Required Education/Experience/SkillsThe ideal candidate will possess the following skill set and knowledge\nB.S. or M.S.
