Do you believe in making the impossible possible?\n\nJob Purpose\nTo size down wire/rod per customer specification, so the customer will be able to make precision products.\nDuties and Responsibilities\nCoil Safety at O&K American; read, understand, and follow it\nRead, understand, and follow all production procedures for W/D\nPower outage instructions\nUnderstand all aspects of machine operation and safety\nGeneral maintenance and troubleshoot of machines and 6S\nPointing of rod\nWeighing coils\nSet / adjust cast for coils\nAble to select dies and print tags / labels\nUsing overhead cranes to offload and load coils\nBe able to calibrate and properly operate department inspection tools: micrometers and loupe light.\nVisual inspection of coil.\nUnderstanding and entering data into AS400 production screen\nIdentifying rod nonconformance’s\nCoil ID tag visual check requirement\nScanning tags & entering random emboss tag number into the computer\nPlacing labels and cutting samples\nDrawing Soap – changing, checking\nInspection for surface nonconformance’s\nNonconformance instructions\nUsing correct wire carriers\nBanding coils\nFollow basic safety procedures.\nOther duties as assigned\nQualifications\nAble to read, write and speak English.\nBasic computer skills\nAble to work with machine inspection equipment.\nOverhead crane experience in an industrial setting is preferred.\nAbility to work overtime and weekends as needed.\nMath and deductive reasoning skills.\nWorking Conditions\nRegularly lifting, traveling up and down stairs, sitting, squatting and bending in various positions - traveling in and out of work areas, walking and being on your feet for a majority of the work day.\nDaily exposed to noise, dust, fumes, and odors. Physical exertion is required.\nThe employee requires standing, bending and twisting for scheduled shift.\nRequires work in a non-air-conditioned area during the summer months.\nVision protection, metatarsal steel-toed shoes, hard hat, ear plugs, and high visibility clothing is required.\nPhysical Requirements\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, talk, and hear.
