{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"f636be8e365376d91c93ffb6","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/f636be8e365376d91c93ffb6","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/f636be8e365376d91c93ffb6","title":"First Shift Saw Operator","description":"Job Summary\nThe Saw Operator will read blueprints, make adjustments, set stops or guides, and look for defects in parts while operating a metal saw, poly saw, or shear.\n\nDuties and Responsibilities\n\nStart, stop, and set up machines in a safe manner.\n\nOperate the machine, keeping an eye out for any defects or issues.\n\nUse measurement tools to ensure accuracy.\n\nComplete quality checks to verify the condition of material.\n\nVerify type of material before cutting.\n\nChange blades, clean sensors, replenish coolant, and calibrate machines.\n\nOperate forklift and crane.\n\nHelp pack and transport finished pieces as needed.\n\nAccurately complete paperwork.\n\nMaintain 6S (sort, set, shine, standardize, sustain, safety) standards in all work stations.\n\nComplete other duties as assigned by supervisor.\n\nSkills\n\nKnowledge of blueprint reading.\n\nOrganizational skills and attention to detail.\n\nTime management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.\n\nBasic math skills (ex. addition, subtraction, multiplication, converting fractions to decimals, converting standard measurements to metric system, etc.).\n\nBasic computer skills.\n\nMechanical inclination.\n\nAbilities\n\nRead a tape measure and other measurement tools.\n\nFunction well in a high‑paced and at times stressful environment.\n\nWork well with others on a team.\n\nFollow instructions and processes.\n\nSolve problems quickly and efficiently.\n\nFlexibility.\n\nWillingness to be trained by supervisor.\n\nAbility to multitask.\n\nWillingness to have performance measured daily.\n\nPreferred Education and Experience\n\nHigh school diploma or equivalent.\n\nForklift certification.\n\nExperience operating a saw (1‑3 years).\n\nPhysical Requirements\nUncontrolled environmental conditions: noise, dust, dirt, and mobile equipment. Routine, repetitive lifting up to 35 lbs., occasional heavy lifting, and pushing/pulling 10 lbs. regularly, 1 to 10 hours per day. Any combination of standing, bending, climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, feeling, and walking 8 to 10 hours per day. Ability to work up to 8‑10 hour shifts and overtime as required by the work. Use of all limbs, dexterous and steady use of hands and arms for long periods of time.
