The technician isresponsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and operating AV equipment while providing exceptional customer service to faculty, staff, students, and guests.This position supports instructional technology initiatives and provides evening and weekend coverage for scheduled university events.\n\nOrganizational Objectives\n\n·Delivering reliable audiovisual services thatsupport teaching, learning, and university operations.\n\n·Maintaining operational readiness of classroomand event technology.\n\n·Providing professional AV support for academic,administrative, and special events.\n\n·Ensuring rapid response to classroom technologyissues.\n\n·Assisting with AV installations, upgrades, andpreventative maintenance.\n\n·Supporting a 95% or greater AV system uptimeobjective.\n\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\n\n·Provide daily operational support foraudiovisual and instructional technology in classrooms, conference rooms,meeting spaces, and university event venues.\n\n·Diagnose and resolve issues involving projectors,displays, monitors, microphones, speakers, cameras, control systems,presentation equipment, video conferencing platforms, and related connectivity.\n\n·Perform routine system testing, preventativemaintenance, and equipment inspections to support reliable operation anddepartmental uptime goals.\n\n·Complete minor installation and replacementwork, including replacing projectors, monitors, cables, adapters, and similaraudiovisual components.\n\n·Document service requests, repairs, maintenanceactivities, and equipment changes in the university's ticketing or inventorysystems.\n\n·Provide audiovisual support for universityevents, commencements, conferences, meetings, executive functions, and otherscheduled programs.\n\n·Coordinate with event organizers to confirm technicalrequirements and respond to issues during events.\n\n·Work evenings, weekends, and other non-standardhours as required to support university events and campus activities.\n\n·Provide professional technical assistance tofaculty, staff, students, guests, and event participants.\n\n·Assist users with classroom technology,presentation systems, conferencing platforms, and basic equipment operation.\n\n·Support departmental technology projects,emergency operations, and other duties assigned by the AV Instructional TechnologyManager or ITS leadership.\n\nQualifications\n\nMinimum Qualifications\n\n·Associate degree in Information Technology,Electronics, Audiovisual Technology, or a related field, or an equivalentcombination of education, training, and experience.\n\n·At least two years of experience supportingprofessional or enterprise audiovisual systems.\n\n·Experience troubleshooting, installing,operating, and maintaining audiovisual equipment.\n\n·Experience supporting live events, meetings,classroom technology, or executive presentations.\n\n·Experience using a help desk or ticketmanagement system.\n\n·Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing upto 50 pounds and perform work involving standing, walking, bending, kneeling,reaching, and climbing ladders.\n\n·Availability to work scheduled evenings,weekends, holidays, and other non-standard hours.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\n·Bachelor's degree in Information Technology,Electronics, Audiovisual Technology, or a related field.\n\n·Two to four years of professional audiovisualsupport experience.\n\n·Experience supporting audiovisual andinstructional technology in a higher education environment.\n\n·AVIXA Certified Technology Specialistcertification.\n\n· Manufacturer certifications or hands-on experience with Crestron, Extron, Q-SYS, Biamp, or similar enterprise AV platforms.\n\nRequired Skills & Qualifications:\n\nEnterprise Audiovisual Systems Support Required 2 Years\n\nTroubleshooting, installing, operating, and maintaining AV equipment Required 2 Years\n\nSupporting Live events, meetings, classrooms technology Required 2 Years\n\nExperience using a help desk or ticketing system Desired 1 Years\n\nAVIXA Certified Technology Specialist Certification Desired\n\nExtron, Q-SYS, Biamp, Crestron Manufacturer Certifications Desired\n\nPay: $25.00 -
