The engineer will maintain an awareness of the current performance levels of company equipment and identify and act on opportunities for improvement.Detailed DescriptionAssists engineers with product quality investigations and data analysisPrepares technical reports as it relates to field incidents or damaged-beyond-repair equipmentMaintains communication with staff and field operations to provide necessary detail in technical investigationsPrepares and submits engineering documentation to engineering team for review, and maintains associated engineering recordsParticipates in engineering projects by conducting tests/experiments and collecting information under the direction of the supervising EngineerSupports and collaborates with other departments within the organizationDevelop, initiate, and maintain standard operating procedures for the performance of Quality Assurance, Inspection, and Test functionsInvestigate equipment failures and create root cause analysis reports, QC Inspection Manuals and Standard operating proceduresMay write and diagram a QC/inspection procedure manualsMay establish controls and inspection points to facilitate detection, correction, and prevention of nonconforming materials, parts, assemblies, and productsWork with Senior Engineers to conduct analyses per specifications and ensures that documentation is kept per MS Directional standardsEnsure that parts and associated documentation are delivered on time, error free and within scheduleMay test and troubleshoot issues in the shopsAssist to prepare and distribute Quality Plans based upon the requirements of the specifications and customer ordersAssist the Engineering Team to ensure that quality standards comply with division and departmental policies, National and international codesOther duties as assignedJob RequirementsStrong computer skills with ability to utilize Microsoft Office Software, e.g. MS Word, PowerPoint, Project, Excel etc., and other discipline specific-software applications (such as SolidWorks CAD) to drive efficiency in productivityMust demonstrate a high level of professional integrity and demeanorMust be self-motivated, capable of identifying problems and recommending alternative solutionsMust be a self-starter able to take initiative and drive for results. Must demonstrate high levels of professional integrity and demeanorAbility to manage time effectively and think strategically with a strong attention to detail.Strong written and oral communication skills with demonstrated ability to conduct effective presentations and written report preparationAble to effectively make technical decisions and manage change requestsAbility to work independently as well as part of a team, managing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously to meet challenging deadlinesMinimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related fieldPreferred QualificationsExperience with MWD toolsExperience working in a team environmentExperience with previous engineering internshipsExperience with Python, and C#Experience with electrical schematics and firmware debuggingExperience with root cause analysis and root cause corrective actionGPA 2.75 or higherAdditional DetailsThis job requires the ability to work under time-sensitive deadlines and maintain a calm and professional demeanor when adversity is encountered. It also requires the physical ability to work in office environment including the ability to sit for long periods of time while performing office or computer tasks as well as in a manufacturing shop environment. The job may require some overtime. The job may require some travel.
