NEHDA staff are SNCC employees.Job DescriptionThe 2Gen Employment Specialist supports individuals referred via Onondaga County 2Gen through comprehensive career development that includes assessment, guidance, training, development, and career mapping. This person will collaborate closely with Onondaga County 2Gen staff to provide comprehensive care for participants.The 2Gen Employment Specialist is a self-starter with strong relationship and organizational skills. 2Gen Employment Specialist will develop and sustain supportive participant relationships, track data, and engage participants with essential services that provide for the long-term wellbeing and health of participants.This position requires work at SNCC office (716 Hawley Avenue) and at the John H. Mulroy Civic Center offices of Onondga County 2Gen.Essential Job Duties And ResponsibilitiesReceive referrals from Onondaga County 2GenInitiate contact to evaluate, perform intake and Life Needs AssessmentDevelop trusting relationships and Individualized Employment Program (IEP)Implement IEP to develop soft skills and create employment materialsSupport participants in engaging with essential services and overcoming barriers around transportation, housing, public assistance, and employee assistanceConnect with employers/employment for ongoing supportEngage in continuous professional development around employment trends, job searching, resume writing, interviewing, soft skills, and compassionate coachingTrack program data and case notes within Salesforce and County databasesCommunicate progress and create reports with as directed by supervisorOther duties as assignedSupervisory DutiesCity of Syracuse resident with knowledge of the community preferredExperience in human services-related field preferredAble to work independently and in collaboration with Onondaga County personnel to administer programStrong listening, speaking, reading, and writing skillsMultilingual/multicultural preferredWelcoming, compassionate, and able to work well with community membersFlexible, collaborative, able to prioritize multiple tasks and manage timeProfessional and on-time, able to work an adjustable schedule as directedPossess reliable transportationBenefitsSNCC pays 85% of Excellus Gold 17 healthcare planSNCC pays 100% of Excellus dental planNYS Sick Leave for 90 days (1 hour credit/30 hours worked)150 hours of annual PTO (prorated as necessary) after 90 daysSNCC 401(k) contribution of 4%, vested after 1 year of continuous employment0.25% 401(k) match on up to 4% of employee contributionMinimum QualificationsRequirements listed represent necessary abilities and skills.
