HR Assistant

Job Description: Assist the Central Team with the support of our location staffServe as a resource to supervisors and employees - answering their questions, providing support and making sure the organization maintains a high level of accountability for the services it providesMaintain accurate, secure, and confidential employee records in the HRIS systemPrepare HR documentation including offer letters, background check authorizations, and policy acknowledgmentsWork in coordination with the VP of Administration to schedule interviewsServe as a first point of contact for HR-related questionsPost open positions and assist hiring managers in correspondence with applicantsAssist VP of Administration and hiring managers in screening candidates for qualifications, cultural fit, and alignment with the organization's mission and statement of faithCoordinate interviews with hiring managers and program leadershipSupport onboarding for new hires, including paperwork, training schedules, and introduction to trauma-informed practicesHelp ensure compliance with employment laws, licensing standards, and nonprofit regulations related to residential care programsAssist with maintaining HRIS personnel files required for audits, accreditation, or inspectionsTrack and document required staff trainings (e.g., trauma-informed care, safety protocols, etc)Support updates to policies and proceduresAssist with payroll data collection and verification, including tracking time for staffMaintain employee benefits records and assist with enrollment processesRespond to basic payroll and benefits questionsRequirements: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred1–2 years of administrative or HR experience preferredExperience in a nonprofit, residential program, or human services setting is a plusStrong organizational skills and attention to detailHigh level of integrity and ability to maintain strict confidentialityExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to navigate sensitive situations with professionalism and compassionProficiency in Google Workplace and HRIS preferredDemonstrated commitment to the organization's Christian mission and valuesWillingness to support and participate in faith-based activities as part of staff cultureUnderstanding of or willingness to learn trauma-informed care principlesBenefits: safe housing at no charge to the residentaround-the-clock caretraining in trauma-informed programming
