Radiology - MRI Tech

MRI Technologist Performs a variety of routine and specialized MRI procedures for inpatients, outpatients, and emergency department patients of all ages. Performs assigned supervisory functions. Maintains standards in accordance with relevant accreditation bodies. Demonstrates courteous behavior through polite and respectful communication to all customers. Adheres to the established customer service behaviors. Verifies physician orders for instructions from the requesting physician and consults with radiologists as necessary. Prepares patients for exams. Explains procedures and provides education and instruction to patients as appropriate. Adheres to MRI safety standards. Performs all magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) studies and administration of contrast media utilizing age-related technical and positioning protocols and safety procedures according to departmental policy. Assists radiologists with MR procedures as requested. Evaluates MRI images for technical quality. Operates and maintains MRI and associated equipment and supplies. Performs equipment warm-up, calibration, and safety checks. Operates hospital computer systems. Reports any equipment malfunctions to a supervisor. Operates equipment in accordance with manufacturer guidelines for appropriate quality control.
