This is comprised of a base hourly rate of 28.56 plus $4.93 per hour Health & Welfare (H&W) for up to 40 hours per week as required by the Service Contract Labor Standards (SCLS) regulations. This rate represents the company’s good faith and reasonable estimate of possible compensation at the time of posting. In addition, for eligible positions we offer a variety of benefits including specified holidays, paid leave, health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, life and disability insurance, tuition reimbursement, as well as 401K with company match. This job will be posted until filled or withdrawn.\n\nResponsibilities:\n\nProvide a wide variety of duties to assist the optometrist/ophthalmologist as appropriate to the level of certification (i.e., COA, COT, or COMT).\nObtain patient histories, perform prescription verification, and maintain patient records.\nAssist in testing patient vision. Test far and near acuity, peripheral vision, depth perception, and color perception.\nExamine the eye, using slit lamp, for abnormalities of cornea, and anterior and posterior chambers.\nApply drops to anesthetize, dilate, or medicate eyes.\nMeasure intraocular pressure of eyes (glaucoma test).\nTest field of vision, including central and peripheral vision, for defects, and chart test results on graph paper.\nMeasure axial length of eye, using ultrasound equipment.\nInstruct patients concerning eye care and contact lens handling.\n\nFox Corporation, its subsidiaries, and affiliates provide equal employment opportunities to all persons and prohibit employment decisions on the basis of race, religion, color, creed, national origin, sex, age, disability, political affiliation, protected veteran status, or sexual orientation, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local law. In the event the HCW does not possess the certification, the HCW shall obtain certification in operation of the VISX Star S4 Excimer Laser within 120 days of start date.\nManufacturer certification to program the INTRALASE femtosecond laser for the creation of laser made LASIK flaps and 1-year hands-on experience.
