Operations Line Lead
Description:
Job Summary
The Line Lead position is responsible for supporting day to day tasks for assigned assembly lines. These tasks will include leading and monitoring product lines to ensure they are able to successfully meet and exceed established standards, volumes and other line KPIs as well as support continuous improvement activities.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Assists with setting and overseeing work assignments, schedules, and work quality of an assembly line
Essential Functions
Support the production of product by providing clear direction to operators working within production and communicate output and challenges to Supervisor
Perform work in process quality checks for assigned lines and alert Supervisor to any existing discrepancies
Occasionally assist with shipping, receiving, inspection, and production planning
Promotes “safety first” mindset across production floor and ensures staff are following safety procedures/guidelines, including PPE when required
Observe, maintain, and improve work cell standardized work and standardized WIP
Provide training to new team members and provide cross-training for current team members
Schedules and coordinates work with and of appropriate department staff so that projects are completed in a timely and efficient manner
Facilitate communication between operators and technical team to ensure issues impacting yield and efficiency are addressed promptly
Create and update documentation for production lines
Help with line balancing and continuous improvement of production lines
Identifies and clarifies requirements
Identify opportunities for productivity, business, and quality improvements
Support company finance, accounting, human resources, quality, regulatory, and clinical departments as necessary to ensure compliance with requirements
Requirements:
Education, Experience, Required Skills
5+ years of manufacturing experience
3+ years of experience working the medical device industry
1+ years of leadership experience preferred
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
On-the-job training provided
Must be an effective communicator and detail oriented
Able to follow instructions and learn the production process
Ability to handle and be trusted with confidential and/or sensitive information
Able to work in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
Ability to be flexible and to handle multiple projects in an organized, timely manner
Able to problem-solve, work under pressure, and effectively manage stress
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer and/or microscope
Prolonged periods of standing and/or walking
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times
Manual dexterity in order to assemble products or machines as directed
Excellent hand-eye coordination
Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE), i.e. gown, gloves, and ear protection when applicable
Must be willing to work in lab and clean room environments to support project work

Compensation
The typical base pay range for this role is between $23.00-26.00/hour. Compensation may vary based on individual job-related knowledge, skills, expertise, and experience. This position is eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program driven by organization and individual performance.
