This physically demanding role involves operating heavy machinery and hand tools to extract and prepare stone from the quarry. As a member of our valued quarry team, you'll play a critical role in the stone production process, helping to cut and extract large blocks of stone for further processing. Whether working underground or above ground, your contributions ensure the continued production of high-quality stone used in projects around the world. This is a hands-on role that offers the opportunity to work with impressive machinery in a unique and dynamic environment.\nKey Responsibilities:\nOperate heavy machinery such as quarry saws, loaders, and material handling equipment\nUse hand tools (pick, shovel, sledgehammer, etc.) to prepare stone\nRemove mud from stone surfaces using hand tools and steam hoses\nChip irregularities from stone slabs and cut notches to shape stone blocks\nLoosen and break stone using various tools (pick, crowbar, sledgehammer)\nMaintain a clean, safe, and organized work area\nFollow all Job Safety Analysis (JSA) procedures to ensure safety\nPhysical Requirements:\nAbility to lift and carry up to 60 lbs\nAbility to work in an underground mine, or surface level quarry environment\nMust be able to climb ladders and work in varying conditions\nAbility to work a 40-hour work week, plus occasional overtime\nExperience & Qualifications:\nHigh school diploma or equivalent\nExperience operating heavy equipment is a plus\nSome experience in construction, farming, or stone industry is a plus\nBasic computer skills or ability to learn company inventory tracking system\nEmployment is contingent upon satisfactory background and drug screening results\nPosition Details:\nJob Type: Full-Time\nStarting Pay: $19.00 per hour\nAttendance Bonus: Additional $1.00 per hour\nWork Schedule:\nSchedule: 6:00am - 2:00pm M-F (Overtime schedule 6-4)\nSaturdays as needed\nLocation: Monroe County (Adams & Victor quarry)\nLocation: Lawrence County (Empire quarry)\nMust be able to reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work\nBenefits (may vary by location):\n401(k) and Roth 401(k) with company match\nComprehensive Health/Dental/Vision insurance\nLife/Disability/AD&D Insurance\nEmployee Assistance Program\nPaid Time off (Vacation/Holidays)\nAdditional Information:\nAny relevant experience will be considered.
