This role handles paper product and materials throughout the mill in a safe and timely manner with movement by forklift and clamp trucks. The Forklift Operator also works closely with the Distribution team and external transportation contacts to provide safe and efficient delivery to our customers.\nKey Responsibilities:\nUnload material and product from incoming vehicles and distribute to assigned locations\nEnsure inventory is accurately tracked and managed\nAssist with the unloading and working of broke rolls/bale trailers\nIdentify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies\nRegularly inspect machinery to determine the need for repairs and guarantee safety by performing regular maintenance\nOffload raw materials and deliver to converting lines\nCommunicate with converting lines and warehouse\nAble to move and work efficiently in different areas of the Warehouse as needed\nAble to reset Laser Guided Vehicles (LGVs)\nAlign with Warehouse leadership on issues and discrepancies\nKeep up with daily load production volume\nHold self and others to high level of safety standards, ensuring workplace safety policies are upheld and safety rules are followed (lockout/tagout procedures, confined spaces, appropriate PPE)\nParticipate as needed in safety incidents and help investigate root cause\nMaintain a clean working environment by complying with procedures and housekeeping responsibilities including daily lift blowdowns\nKnowledge of trailer LOTO procedures (trailer stands, glad hand locks)\nSafely empty trash hoppers in compactors\nDemonstrated knowledge of all waste hopper identification\nProperly store non-hazardous chemicals in warehouse and understand emergency procedures if needed\nRequirements:\nHigh School Diploma or GED equivalent (required)\nKnowledge of Laser Guided Vehicles (LGVs) (preferred)\nUnderstand and comply with all manufacturing safety procedures including personal protective equipment (required)\nAble to work in a physically demanding environment including temperature extremes, loud noise, avoiding slipping, tripping, and falling hazards\nPhysically capable of manual labor that includes bending, walking, sitting, and climbing in and around machinery and equipment for entire 12-hour shift\nAble to lift, up to 40 lbs frequently, between 40 and 50 lbs occasionally, over 50 lbs minimally. When lifting 50 lbs and above, Operator will use team lifting and overhead crane assistance.\nWork environment includes exposure to compressed air, steam, lubrication oil, dust, and hydraulic fluid.\nAble to work a 12-hour rotating shift including nights, weekends, and Holidays.
