Functional Academics Special Education TeacherThis position is for a Functional Academics Special Education Teacher at Aledo HS for the 26-27 school year. Reports to: PrincipalPrimary Purpose:Provide special education students with learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Develop or modify curricula and prepare lessons and other instructional materials to student ability levels. Work in self contained, team, departmental, or itinerant capacity as assigned.Qualifications:Education/Certification:Bachelor's degree from accredited universityValid Texas teaching certificate with required special education endorsements for assignmentsMay require additional certifications in subject area depending upon assignmentSpecial Knowledge/Skills:Knowledge of special needs of students in assigned roleKnowledge of Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committee processStandard Based Individual Education Plan (IEP) goal development and implementationGeneral knowledge of curriculum and instructionExperience:At least one year student teaching or approved internshipIn order to be considered for a position, you must upload a cover letter, resume, and any other supporting documentation in "Application Materials".
