Responsible for continuous leadership, recruitment, and training of operator candidates. Promotes strong leadership and influences positive employee morale throughout the location. This position salary range is $75,000-85,000. (DOE)\nResponsibilities:\nProvides behind-the-wheel instruction according to corporate and client specifications in all aspects of vehicle operation and passenger transportation, including defensive driving, service area familiarization, passenger loading, unloading and securement.\nConducts classroom training in accordance with corporate and location requirements.\nEnsure all safety manuals, programs, policies, and procedures are current and meet the needs of the location.\nDocument all training activities and ensure accurate completion of all training-related employee records.\nEstablish a relationship with client and corporate personnel to identify additional training needs, resources, and opportunities.\nPrepares and conducts monthly safety meetings.\nMaintains an adequate and complete employee filing system and participates in audits and inspections to meet client and corporate expectations.\nDirects the location drug & alcohol program to include random drug testing and ensures all files are updated to pass regular audits.\nManages the injury prevention program to reduce the number of workplace injuries.\nConducts accident investigation using root-cause analysis and assigns employee re-training as required.\nResponsible for maintaining/posting OSHA log.\nConducts road observations to evaluate operator safety, customer service, and systematic knowledge of the service.\nProvides coaching and re-training as required on SmartDrive.\nRespond to customer comments related to the service.\nBe on call and work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.\nResponsible for CHP audits\nAdminister discipline and/or coaching when applicable.\nAttend Client required meetings.\nResponsible for Drug and Alcohol program compliance, i.e. random list, post-accident, etc.\nAnalyze KPI trends.\nPost-collision and incident investigations and assess possible root causes.\nInitiate and manage safety campaigns aimed to provoke workplace safety to reduce severity and frequency of collisions and incidents.\nImplement safety policies and procedures.\nParticipate in Client Safety Steering Committee meetings.\nResponsible for ensuring proper and reasonable actions are taken to prevent and mitigate the spread of communicable disease within and related to the operation.\nConduct training on de-escalation of interpersonal incidents with the objective or reducing and eliminating assaults on transit worker.\nConduct training on safety concerns identification and reporting.\n\nQualifications\nMinimum five years of recent experience managing a Paratransit Safety and Training Program or similar position.\nAbility to develop and implement a safety and training department.\nKnowledge of federal and state rules and regulations regarding safety and environmental issues\nComputer literate with working knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint\nAbility to effectively prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.\nGood verbal, written, and relational communication skills, with the ability to appropriately interact with employees of all levels, including drivers, customers, senior management, client representatives, union officials, and the public.\nSubject to DOT drug testing.
