The Facility Engineer is responsible for planning, designing, implementing and maintaining all facility related systems to support safe, efficient, and reliable Factory operations. This role oversees major infrastructure projects, manages contractors and vendors, and ensures all building systems meet regulatory, environmental, and operational standards. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, project management capability, and the ability to lead facility initiatives in a fast paced manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for hands-on engineers who thrive in fast-paced, evolving environments.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\nFacility Systems Engineering & Installation\nLead the design, purchase, installation, and startup and ongoing operation of all facility systems, including:\nCompressed Dry Air (CDA) compressors, HVAC systems\nElectrical distribution systems and back systems\nLife safety systems - fire protection, alarms, emergency systems, security ststems\nOther critical utilities and infrastructure - chilled water, exhaust, etc.\nDevelop technical requirements from FUMs for new equipment and upgrades.\nEnsure proper system integration, commissioning, and turnover to operations.\nFacility Operation and Optimization Management\nMaintain and update the Facility Utility Matrix in coordination with vendor and engineering teams.\nTrack utility loads, capacity planning, resource allocation, and consumption trends.\nWork closely with Finance team on selection of key power providers and savings programs to drive lowest cost options.\nIdentify efficiency improvement opportunities and support Equipment Engineering and Maintenance initiatives.\nBuild preventive maintenance programs from scratch\nTroubleshoot facility failures in real time to prevent production downtime\nContinuously improve reliability, energy efficiency, and system uptime\nContractor & Vendor Management\nOversee external contractors for infrastructure design, buildout, and installation activities.\nPrepare scopes of work, review engineering drawings, and ensure contractor compliance with project requirements.\nCoordinate construction schedules, permitting, site access, safety oversight, and project deliverables.\nEvaluate bids and manage vendor relationships to ensure quality, reliability, and cost control.\nFacilities Operations & Compliance\nDrive safe operations of all facility systems, and proper hardware, processes and programs for the general facility building and site grounds.\nEnsure all facility systems are maintained in accordance with operational standards and regulatory requirements.\nSupport preventive maintenance planning and troubleshoot utility system issues as needed.\nAssist with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) compliance for facility related systems.\nDevelop facility documentation, SOPs, equipment records, and engineering change documentation.\nSupport all ISO certification requirements.\n\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Facility Engineering, or related technical field.\n5+ years of experience in facility engineering, utilities engineering, or facility management—manufacturing environment of high automation and relevant infrastructure required.\nExperience with factory design and startup preferred\nStrong knowledge of facility utilities: HVAC, CDA, electrical distribution, chilled water, life safety, fire protection, backups, etc.\nExperience managing contractors and vendors for industrial construction or infrastructure projects.\nDemonstrated ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, and construction documents.\nFamiliarity with building codes, OSHA requirements, and relevant safety/permit regulations.\nStrong project management skills with experience delivering projects on time and within budget.\nExcellent communication and cross functional collaboration skills.\nAbility to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast paced environment\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience in solar, semiconductor, or advanced manufacturing.\nCertifications such as PMP, PE, or CFM.\nExperience with energy optimization or sustainability initiatives.\nKnowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS) or CMMS platforms.\n\nWorking Conditions\nPrimarily office and manufacturing environment.\nAbility to be on the production floor and in mechanical rooms as required.\nMay require periodic evening or weekend work to support construction or system startup and troubleshooting.","company":"Us Modules","rawCompany":"us modules","city":"Orlando","state":"FL","isRemote":false,"isActive":false,"createdAt":"2026-04-12T18:52:52.901Z","occupations":[{"code":"11-3013.00","title":"Facilities Managers","slug":"facilities-managers"},{"code":"11-9041.00","title":"Architectural and Engineering Managers","slug":"architectural-and-engineering-managers"},{"code":"49-9071.00","title":"Maintenance and Repair Workers, General","slug":"maintenance-and-repair-workers-general"}],"industries":[{"code":"541330","title":"Engineering Services","slug":"engineering-services"},{"code":"561210","title":"Facilities Support Services","slug":"facilities-support-services"},{"code":"238290","title":"Other Building Equipment Contractors","slug":"other-building-equipment-contractors"}],"jobPosting":{"@context":"https://schema.org","@type":"JobPosting","title":"Facility Engineer","description":"Position Overview\nAs a Facility Engineer in a startup solar manufacturing environment, you will play a critical role in designing, launching, and scaling a high-volume production facility from the ground up.
