Prepare all major internal financial reports, and assist the CFO, in the presentation and interpretation to executive management, the Finance Committee and the Board.\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:\nAdminister and monitor the financial systems to ensure the College’s finances are maintained in an accurate and timely manner.\nOversee the accounting and payroll systems to ensure effective processes and compliance, timely reporting and accuracy of information.\nPreparation of a complete set of monthly internal financial statements; statement of financial position, statement of activities, and statement of cash flows. Additionally, provide monthly budget control reports.\nCoordinate annual financial and compliance audit with outside auditors. Preparation of necessary work papers and schedules for the various audits (Financial, Compliance, 403(b)) and Federal Form 990. Preparation of annual financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.\nMaintain proper internal financial controls and segregation of duties.\nPrepare and submit all IPEDS, NCAA reporting, etc.\nProvide efficient and effective office management.\nADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\nEstablish and maintain controls over cash and cash equivalent accounts and reconciliation of general ledger accounts to subsidiary ledgers.\nCoordinate and assist in the preparation of the annual operating and capital budget process.\nMonitoring of department and line item budgets and the underlying purchase order process and procedures.\nAssist student account manager with delinquent and outstanding accounts.\nProper accounting for donor restricted funds and College investments\nSUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTS:\nManage and supervise the Student Account Manager, Senior Accountant, Accounting Clerk and co-manage the student worker. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance: rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.\nEDUCATION:\nEssential: Master’s degree in business administration, accounting or related field\nfrom an accredited four-year college or university\nEXPERIENCE:\nEssential: 3 – 5 years experience with daily business office accounting functions and staff supervision\nDesirable: Higher education or non-profit industry experience\n\nLICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:\nDesirable: Certified Public Accountant “CPA” or Certified Management Accountant “CMA”\nKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:\nThorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles “GAAP”, Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) rules, experience leading institutions federally funded through student financial aid programs”.\nProficient knowledge in general ledger accounting software, Microsoft Office applications, and electronic mail.\nSupervisory and leadership skills, team building, analytical and problem solving skills, and critical thinking and decision making skills.\nEffective written and verbal communication skills.\nMaintain utmost character and ethics.\nSelf-starter that enjoys assessing and improving efficiencies in accounting processes and procedures.\nEQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY\nEureka College is an equal opportunity employer committed to achieving diversity and cultural awareness within its administration, faculty, staff, and students.
