This position is responsible for ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements, managing internal controls, and supporting the organization’s financial strategy. The Controller will serve as a key leader within the Finance Department and work closely with executive management and department leaders.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nDirect all accounting operations, including the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, fixed assets, inventory accounting, and account reconciliations\nManage month-end and year-end close processes and ensure timely and accurate financial reporting\nPrepare and review internal and external financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP\nDevelop, document, implement, and monitor internal controls, accounting policies, procedures, and workflows to protect company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting\nOversee inventory accounting, including valuation, reserves, reconciliations, and related controls across retail and distribution operations\nCoordinate audits (internal and external) and ensure timely completion\nPartner with the CFO and department leaders on annual budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow planning, and variance analysis\nProvide strategic financial analysis and recommendations to support business decision-making\nMonitor cash-management activities and support banking, treasury, and working-capital initiatives\nEnsure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local tax requirements and coordinate with external tax advisors on the preparation and filing of returns\nOversee accounting activities for multiple locations, departments, and legal entities\nRecruit, lead, coach, and develop the accounting team, including setting performance expectations and conducting performance evaluations\nSupport implementation and optimization of financial systems and ERP platforms\nCollaborate with other departments to align financial planning with organizational goals\nPerform other duties and special projects as assigned\n\nQualifications:\n\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s degree or MBA preferred)\nCPA designation strongly preferred\n7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership or management role\nIn-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance\nProficiency in accounting and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel\nStrong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills\nExcellent interpersonal and communication abilities\nHigh level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information\nExperience in a multi-location, multi-entity, retail, distribution, or inventory-based organization, preferred\n\nWork Environment and Physical Requirements\n\nThis position primarily operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment. The employee must be able to remain in a stationary position and work at a computer for extended periods. Reasonable accommodations may be provided to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.\n\nSchedule and Travel\n\nThis is an onsite position based at the corporate office in Gardena, California.
