You will work with technologies including Azure, Elasticsearch, Kafka, Databricks, Python, and distributed systems to build highly available, low-latency applications.The ideal candidate has strong backend engineering experience with cloud-native architectures, search technologies, REST APIs, event streaming, and large-scale data processing. You are passionate about building reliable, scalable systems and enjoy solving complex engineering challenges in a collaborative environment.Main Responsibilities:Design and develop scalable backend services using PythonBuild and maintain REST APIs supporting enterprise applicationsDesign and optimize Elasticsearch indexes, queries, mappings, and search relevanceDevelop intelligent search and matching capabilities for large-scale datasetsBuild event-driven architectures using Kafka and Azure Event HubDesign high-throughput data ingestion and indexing pipelinesIntegrate applications with Databricks and enterprise data platformsDevelop secure cloud-native applications on Microsoft AzureImplement CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processesMonitor application health, logging, observability, and production performanceOptimize API response time, indexing performance, and infrastructure utilizationParticipate in architecture, design reviews, code reviews, and production supportCollaborate with product managers, architects, data scientists, and engineering teamsHard Skills - Must have:Strong Python backend development experienceExperience designing and operating production REST APIsStrong experience with Elasticsearch in production environmentsExperience with Databricks and Delta LakeExperience building scalable search platformsExperience with Kafka or enterprise event-streaming platformsExperience deploying applications on Microsoft AzureExperience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deploymentsExperience troubleshooting production systems and performance issuesStrong understanding of distributed systems and microservicesNice to have:Experience with AI-assisted search or intelligent matching platformsExperience with machine learning integrationExperience with semantic search or vector searchExperience with Azure OpenAI or LLM integrationHealthcare or supply chain experienceExperience using GitHub Copilot or CodexSoft Skills:Ability to anticipate, assess, and communicate risks and issues, defining and driving effective mitigation strategies across the teamExceptional communication and stakeholder management; clarity in direction, alignment, and timely delivery of milestonesProactive, accountable leadership that fosters ownership, high performance, and continuous improvementStrong mentoring, facilitation in agile ceremonies, and comfort making architectural trade‑offs visible to non‑technical stakeholdersAt Allata, we value differences.Allata is an equal opportunity employer.
