This role involves assessment, treatment planning, equipment management, emergency response, and patient/family education. The therapist works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.Key ResponsibilitiesPatient Assessment & Care PlanningAssess patients to determine appropriate type and frequency of respiratory treatments. Develop individualized plans of care based on diagnosis and clinical findings. Therapeutic InterventionsImplement and monitor respiratory care plans, therapy modalities, and equipment. Perform advanced respiratory treatments, including aerosol therapies, airway management, NIPPV/CPAP/BiPAP, and oxygen protocols. Respond to emergency and code situations as part of the resuscitation team. Monitoring & DocumentationMonitor, record, and communicate changes in patient conditions. Evaluate treatment effectiveness and adjust care based on patient response. Ensure accurate and timely charting in accordance with facility standards. Patient & Family EducationEducate patients and families about respiratory conditions, treatments, self-care, and available community support programs.
