(WMI), an award-winning producer of commercial-grade lawn equipment, is looking for committed people to join our Finish Department, the final step in manufacturing some of the safest, most durable, and highest-quality lawn equipment in the world.Our Finish Department plays an important role in preparing completed mowers for delivery. This position is responsible for final assembly, adding operational fluids, testing completed equipment, verifying quality and performance, and safely moving and staging completed mowers for the next step in the production process.Forklift operation is an essential part of this position. Qualified candidates must be able to safely operate a sit-down forklift to move and stage mowers and materials throughout the Finish process.Second Shift 4:00PM-12:30AM*Additional shift differential for second shift hours*Overtime may be required on a daily or weekly basisEssential Functions of Forklift/ Finish Operator:Perform final assembly and preparation tasks according to Standard Work instructionsAdd required fuel, oil, hydraulic fluid, and other operational fluids while ensuring proper fill levelsConduct operational and performance testing on completed mowers according to inspection guidelinesIdentify, document, and communicate quality issues, defects, or other concerns discovered during testingSafely operate a sit-down forklift to move and stage completed mowers, materials, and equipment throughout the Finish processRoute completed mowers to the appropriate next stage, including Crating for shipment or the Hospital Area for rework or repairEnter completed units into the production system and verify serial numbers and build recordsPerform or assist with rework and repair tasks as neededUse hand tools, pneumatic tools, diagnostic equipment, cranes, hoists, and other equipment as requiredMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work areaProperly maintain and store tools, testing equipment, and other department resourcesFollow all company safety procedures and support Wright Manufacturing's commitment to Lean Manufacturing principlesParticipate in problem-solving and continuous improvement activitiesRequirements:Qualified candidates for our Forklift/ Finish Operator role should be able to demonstrate:Previous sit-down forklift operating experience requiredAbility to safely operate a sit-down forklift in a production/manufacturing environmentStrong attention to detail and commitment to qualityConsistent work historyBasic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skillsCompetence with basic hand tools preferredAbility to understand and follow written and verbal instructionsBasic English reading and comprehension skillsBasic computer skills for data entry and recordkeepingBasic problem-solving and critical-thinking skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamAbility to work in a fast-paced production environmentAbility to lift up to 50 lbs. when requiredAbility to regularly stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, push, pull, and reach with hands and armsCoordinated with proficient motor skills and manual dexteritySpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focusAbility to work in an environment that is not climate controlledAbility to work in a moderate to high noise level environmentExcellent attendance recordEducation and Experience:Previous manufacturing or production experience preferredPrevious sit-down forklift operating experience requiredBasic mechanical or equipment knowledge preferredWMI is committed to cross-training and inter-department personnel movements.
