They will be responsible for ensuring that authorization staff prioritize work appropriately and minimize financial risk for the organization and the patient. The Authorization Coordinator will serve as the first line of escalation for staff questions on workflows, processes, and decisions relating to financial risk. This position reports to the Authorization Manager.\nBehavioral Framework Highlights:\nBehavioral Framework is devoted to the pursuit of providing excellent, honest, and compassionate care within the autism community.\nWe believe in the dedication and passion of our professional team and the science behind ABA to make a difference in the families and children we serve.\nRanked on the Inc. 5000 list for 3 consecutive years.\n1 of 4 Autism providers in the country to earn 3-year accreditation + telehealth from the Behavioral Health Center of Excellence.\nEssential Functions\nAuthorizations\nManage a system and guide for submitting ABA authorization requests to various insurance payers.\nCoordinate clients, physicians, and insurance companies to fulfill authorization requirements.\nReceive, process, track, submit and file authorization documents.\nEducate clients on legal documents and manage signed documents.\nManage medical files on past and current clients.\nCoordinate with clinical management team and provide status updates on clients’ authorizations.\nPrepare weekly and monthly reports for clinical management on authorization status, expired authorizations, authorization service usage, and various other key metrics.\nTrain new staff, provide ongoing training for existing staff and assist in the planning and development of training materials.\nComplete regular quality and productivity audits as requested.\nServes as a knowledge expert and an escalation point for staff questions and concerns. Assists with questions regarding team functions, workflows, and direction.\nAssist with special projects, initiatives and billing tasks as assigned.\n\nKnowledge, Skills, Experience\nMaintain confidentiality; adhere to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations.\nExcellent customer service skills.\nKnowledge of the behavioral health industry and terms.\nExperience in managing recordkeeping and tracking systems.\nExperience with patient care coordination.\nExperience working with insurance companies.\nKnowledge of regulations related to Medicaid and commercial insurance.\nKnowledge of industry regulations.\nExcellent organizational skills.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.\nMin High School diploma, college degree preferred.\nBilingual English/Spanish preferred.\n\nWork Environment, Physical Conditions\nAbility to work in a fast-paced environment.\nAbility to work 40 hours per week.\nAbility to work cooperatively with others.\nMust comply with practice policies and procedures.\nRequires daily in-office work.
