Move and lift stock and equipment as necessary.\nDirect residents at residential sites in preparing and cooking meals.\nAssist with donation pick-up from Food Bank and other donation sites.\nPrepare for site inspections from various regulatory agencies.\nTrain residents on aspects of safe food handling.\nPerform administrative requirements such as completing necessary forms and reports.\nAssist in maintenance and recording of proper temperature controls, food storage, and food rotation.\nMaintain kitchen in a clean and safe manner by assuring that necessary equipment and supplies are used.\nTravel to purchase food items, gather donations and other items as needed.\nInteract with clients and staff in a professional and respectful manner.\nAchieve outcomes using methods that align with CODA’s mission and values:\nCommunicate accurately and positively about recovery and the use of evidence-based treatments.\nUse data and science to identify barriers, overcome obstacles, and inform decisions.\nBe financially responsible; avoid waste, document accurately, seek new opportunities to serve.\nDemonstrate compassion and respect for others.\nSECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:\nProvide coverage for other positions on a short-term basis as needed.\nSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:\nThis position has no supervisory responsibilities.\nCOMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:\nUnderstanding of storage, preparation, and safety procedures of food preparation and service.\nAbility to demonstrate and teach others proper techniques for baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods\nAbility to maintain professional communications and boundaries while interacting with individuals diagnosed with substance use or co-occurring conditions.\nAbility to utilize both oral and written communications skills to effectively communicate with patients, co-workers, community resources, supervisors, and various other individuals encountered in the course of performing work while maintaining patient confidentiality and establishing professional rapport.\nAbility to operate a computer and utilize basic MS Office programs.\nAbility to use basic math skills.\nREQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:\nHigh school diploma, GED or equivalent is required.\nPrior work experience in menu planning and food preparation for large groups of people in a health-care environment is required.\nREQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES:\nOregon Food Handler’s card.\nBasic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to acquire within 90 days of hire.\nA valid Oregon or Washington driver’s license.\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS:\nMust be able to lift up to 50 pounds.\nMust be able to follow infection control practices and safely work in patient-focused environment.\nMust be able to lift pots and pans, bulk food items, and kitchen equipment, utilize knife skills, and work in an environment with fluctuating temperatures.\nMust be able to operate a personal computer, including reading from a computer monitor, keyboarding, and using a mouse.\nMust be able to reach, bend, and handle objects.\nMust be able to perform Basic Life Support for 15 minutes continuously and maintain BLS certification.\nAbility to safely operate a motor vehicle.\nOTHER REQUIREMENTS:\nConsistent attendance and punctuality are required of this position.\nPassion for helping others, nonjudgmental, and able to deal with difficult situations in positive and constructive ways.\nA negative result on all pre-employment, reasonable basis, and post-accident drug screens.\nAn acceptable criminal record as determined by DHS, the Oregon Administrative Rules, and the Oregon Revised Statutes;
