TitleSr Cybersecurity EngineerKBR is seeking a motivated and mission-focused Cybersecurity Engineer to join our cutting-edge team supporting the acquisition of advanced aeronautical systems and subsystems. In this role, you will be part of a fast-paced environment supporting KC-46 and Future Tanker programs within the Mobility Directorate. We're looking for a cybersecurity professional who is passionate about solving complex security challenges, thrives in a dynamic and collaborative setting, and is committed to safeguarding our warfighters against sophisticated cyber threats.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and support Risk Management Framework (RMF) Assessment and Authorization (A&A) efforts to secure Authority to Operate (ATO) across multiple cutting-edge platformsConduct in-depth vulnerability and risk assessments to identify and mitigate threats earlyApply technical risk management principles to evaluate and secure Air Force Platform IT (PIT) systemsAnalyze program documentation—requirements, concepts, designs, and technical manuals—to ensure all cybersecurity requirements are met and sustained throughout the lifecycleAssist in preparing, reviewing, and refining cybersecurity documentation to include Cyber maintenance score card reportingCollaborate closely with program managers during key milestone events and support Program Protection planning and executionContribute to a mission-driven team that's at the forefront of U.S. Air Force simulation capabilities Perform additional duties as assigned—no two days are the sameWhat You BringStrong knowledge of RMF, cybersecurity frameworks, and ATO processesExperience working with SAPs, PIT systems, and/or military aviation programsA collaborative mindset and drive to stay ahead of evolving cyber threatsExcellent communication and technical writing skills with a commitment to excellence, innovation, and national defenseJoin KBR and become part of a trusted team that’s engineering mission success for the U.S. Air Force—one secured system at a time.Work EnvironmentLocation: On-SiteTravel Requirements: Minimal 0-20%Working Hours: StandardQualifications RequiredEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (experience may be considered in lieu of degree)Experience: 10+ years of relevant cybersecurity experience in DoD, aerospace, or similar environmentsCertifications: Must meet DoD 8570.01-M requirements for IAM Level II or IAT Level III, such as:CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)CASP+ (CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner)CISM (Certified Information Security Manager)GSLC (GIAC Security Leadership Certification)CCNP Security or higherClearance: Top SecretExperience supporting SAP programs, Air Force acquisition, or Platform IT (PIT) systemsStrong understanding of RMF, NIST 800-53, and cybersecurity compliance frameworksExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively in high-tempo environmentsDesired QualificationsExperience with cybersecurity for aircraft weapons systems.Prior work supporting the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMCFamiliarity with Program Protection Plans, Cybersecurity Strategies, and Security Controls Traceability Matrices (SCTMs)Advance Degree preferredReady to Make a Difference?If you’re excited about making a significant impact in the field of space defense and working on projects that matter, we encourage you to apply and join our team at KBR.
