Managing Director, Business Development & FundraisingWe are seeking an entrepreneurial Managing Director, Head of Business Development, and Fundraising to drive capital raising and investor relations for flagship Hedge Funds and customized SMA platforms. The firm is a top-quartile leader in Structured Credit, with a heavy focus on Residential Mortgage-Backed Securities (RMBS).The ideal candidate has a verifiable track record raising assets in structured credit and an elite, active network of University Endowments, Foundations, and Investment Consultants.ResponsibilitiesCapital Raising: Execute a global distribution strategy to secure institutional mandates for hedge fund and SMA platforms.Investor Targeting: Close allocations from tier-1 and tier-2 Endowments, Foundations, and institutional consultants.Strategic Positioning: Translate complex structured credit strategies (RMBS, CMBS, distressed debt) into compelling narratives for institutional allocators.Consultant Relations: Secure and maintain high ratings with top investment consulting firms (e.g., Cambridge Associates, Mercer, NEPC) to clear RFPs and buy-lists.Market Intelligence: Monitor investor appetite and market trends to provide product development feedback to the investment team.RequirementsExperience: 10–15+ years of institutional fundraising experience within alternative assets, hedge funds, or private credit.Domain Expertise: Deep technical fluency in Structured Credit, specifically RMBS and CMBS (required). Comfort pitching directly to institutional CIOs.Track Record: Proven success raising hundreds of millions (or billions) in institutional AUM for credit or fixed-income strategies.Network: Active Rolodex of North American institutional decision-makers and consultant research teams.Credentials: Bachelor’s required; MBA, CFA, or CAIA preferred.
