This position is intended to replace a departing team member and requires a candidate with strong knowledge in child passenger safety, particularly car seat evaluation, and a proven ability to lead and coordinate complex technical efforts.\n\nThe ideal candidate will be a certified Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST), skilled in vehicle safety systems and New Car Assessment Program (NCAP) testing protocols. Strong organizational skills, proactive initiative, and the ability to take ownership of tasks and lead coordination among stakeholders are essential.\n\nResponsibilities:\nServe as a technical resource on car seat safety, occupant protection systems, and NCAP-related test procedures.\nLead or assist with the development of research plans, data reviews, and technical presentations related to NCAP and child safety in vehicles.\nCoordinate and support engineering evaluations and vehicle testing initiatives.\nTake ownership of projects, providing leadership and direction as needed across multi-disciplinary teams.\nPrepare detailed technical reports and present findings to stakeholders.\nUtilize Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to prepare documentation, analysis, and presentations.\nMaintain excellent attention to detail while managing multiple priorities effectively.\nAct as a key liaison for internal and external coordination efforts.\nQualifications:\nEducation: Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Engineering, Transportation Safety, or a related field.\nExperience: Minimum of five (5+) years of relevant professional experience.\nCertification: Must be a Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST) or able to obtain certification prior to start.\nTechnical Skills:\nProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.\nStrong presentation development and data communication abilities.\nSoft Skills:\nExcellent organizational and coordination skills.\nProactive ownership mindset and ability to lead efforts independently.\nStrong interpersonal skills and clear, effective communication.\nTeam-oriented, with the ability to manage competing priorities.\n\nPhysical Demands:\n• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds\n• Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time\n• Must be able to twist, bend, and squat periodically\n\nTarget hourly range is between $40 - $50 commensurate with experience.\n\nPlease note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Bowhead considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and business considerations when extending an offer.\n\nSECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must be able to obtain a security clearance at the Public Trust level.
