This position involves ensuring the equipment is set up and adjusted properly, monitoring the forging process to ensure precision, and troubleshooting any equipment issues that may arise. The operator will also maintain safety protocols and ensure that production goals are met efficiently.\nComply with all company policies and procedures including Health, Safety, and Quality Assurance policies.\nReport injuries, accidents, near misses or unsafe conditions to a Supervisor or Manager immediately.\nOperate all forge presses; This includes setting and monitoring all press controls\nCheck the set-up of tooling for the specific item being forged.\nChange dies\nUnload and load the forged parts into the containers.\nRequires using tongs to handle billets or as a lever to move heavier billets that are at the proper temperature.\nRe-shim dies\nSet or adjust induction heaters to ensure proper billet temperatures.\nLook for visual defects on dies and parts\nMake in-process adjustments to presses and or controls to ensure parts are made correctly.\nPush out induction heaters to remove billets when needed.\nBlow out induction heaters to remove debris.\nOperate Company computer system related to work order updating.\nOperate fork truck\nFollow all safety regulations, including the use of all required PPE.\nMaintain required quantity and quality levels\nOther duties as assigned\n\nEXPERIENCE\n\nMachinery operation and/or hot metal process experience a plus\n\nSKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS\n\nHigh School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Preferred\nAbility to pass a basic reading, math, measurement, parts matching and counting test\nAble to read, understand, interpret and follow detailed work instructions and manufacturing specifications\nAbility to adjust to changes without compromising Quality or Performance\nMust be able to work a shift schedule and overtime as needed, including weekends\n\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS\n\nMust be able to stand for the duration of scheduled shift\nModerate physical effort handling parts. Equivalent to frequently exerting average effort. Ability to manually load or unload materials onto or off of pallets, skids, platforms, saws, and trucks.\nAble to lift items weighing up 60 lbs repetitively.\nSpecific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus\nManual dexterity using hands, fingers, and arms to push, pull, reach, grab, hold, lift, and hammer\nContinuous mental and visual attention in cleaning.
