The role focuses on improving automation, scaling cloud infrastructure, and supporting a migration toward a fully AWS-based environment. You will work closely with engineering teams to build tools that streamline development workflows, strengthen system reliability, and modernize a high-traffic WordPress platform and supporting backend services. Key skills and experience required 8+ years supporting scalable, high-traffic web platforms Strong experience building and operating infrastructure in AWS Extensive knowledge of serverless services such as Lambda, Step Functions, DynamoDB and Cognito Hands-on experience with AWS CDK and infrastructure as code practices Strong scripting ability (Linux/Unix shell, Python, Ruby or similar) Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using AWS-native tools or platforms like GitHub Actions Solid understanding of Git-based development workflows Experience with configuration management and automated deployment processes Knowledge of SDLC processes and development lifecycle best practices Experience designing and managing AWS multi-account environments Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as CloudWatch or X-Ray Experience hosting and supporting WordPress at scale Understanding of MySQL and/or Elasticsearch Ability to estimate and manage AWS infrastructure costs If this role is of interest, please send an up-to-date CV to lungelo.nkosi@darwinrecruitment.com .
