Areas of expertise include designing new substations and infrastructure, analyzing systems and disruptions to service, working with transformers, engineering the electrical protection and control circuits that handles the flow of power, and dealing with acceptance testing of equipment, failures of equipment and analysis of system disturbances.\nDistribution Engineering is responsible for the strategic development, expansion, planning, design, maintenance and operation of the system and its equipment to provide reliable service to customers. Technical solutions and modernization initiatives are improving operations and enabling integration of renewable energy resources. The group also works to prevent, evaluate and provide appropriate resolutions to system failures.\nEssential Functions:\nProvides engineering/technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis and resolution of problems of increasing scope and complexity in both inside as well as outside the scope of typical responsibility.\nEnsures accomplishment of business goals and objectives through effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling and monitoring of work activities; decisions may affect the operations or results of the work group and may have some impact on major projects or department results.\nPrepares thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations and sketches related to defined problems and analysis of increasing scope and complexity.\nConducts engineering and related studies; completes non-routine engineering projects with minimal oversight with the ability to independently manage project schedules and interfaces; Possesses and applies the fundamental engineering concepts, practices and procedures; proficient in technical and analytical competencies necessary to handle assignments of increasing complexity.\nDevelops positive working relationships to effectively coordinate work activities.\nDemonstrates effective oral and written communication skills.\nMaintains accurate records and files.\nSupports the company's goals and represents the company positively and professionally.\nTechnical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Experience:\nTechnical Knowledge/Skill:\nKnowledge of utility power systems is preferred.\nAbility to independently develop, present and execute new projects through collaborations with other departments.\nFamiliarity with power related software is preferred.\nEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.\n\nExperience: 3-5 years related experience is required. Engineering design experience preferred.\n\nCompensation and Benefits:\nThe annual salary range for this position is $94,730-$105,250, plus incentive.
