(SSAI) is seeking a senior BI Developer / Data Engineering professional to support enterprise data initiatives for a public sector education client. The selected candidate will design, automate, support, and improve data extraction, transformation, loading, data warehouse, and data lake solutions.\r\nThis position is Onshore / Remote and requires availability during Pacific Time business hours.\r\nThis role is ideal for a senior data professional with deep experience in Oracle, dbt, ETL/ELT, data ingestion, dimensional modeling, cloud data integration, data quality validation, and Git/CI-CD deployment practices. The work supports large-scale enterprise data management and reporting needs across business customers, vendors, and internal technical teams.\r\nKey Responsibilities\r\n\r\nDesign, automate, support, and enhance sophisticated data extraction, transformation, and loading applications.\r\nDevelop and support Oracle database batch applications within data warehouse and data lake environments.\r\nIngest data from heterogeneous sources into on-premises or cloud data storage platforms, including environments such as Snowflake, AWS, and related cloud data services.\r\nBuild and manage ETL/ELT workflows using dbt, Oracle Data Integrator (ODI), Oracle PL/SQL, Oracle SQL, and shell scripting.\r\nDevelop dimensional hierarchies and data models to support enterprise data management reports and analytics needs.\r\nCreate and improve data solutions that support smooth, reliable data delivery across large volumes of data.\r\nPerform data quality validation, write dbt tests, and help resolve data integrity or reporting issues.\r\nSupport API development frameworks and cloud-native data integration technologies as needed.\r\nSupport data lake migration from on-premises systems to cloud platforms.\r\nBuild incremental models, manage raw data layers, and develop modular dbt models for vendor/application data.\r\nConvert complex Oracle stored procedures into maintainable dbt models using macros, hooks, incremental models, and modular design practices.\r\nUse Git workflows, branching strategies, and CI/CD pipelines to support automated deployment of data solutions.\r\nCollaborate with business customers, vendors, and internal resources to clarify requirements, resolve issues, and support successful delivery.\r\nProvide weekly status updates and maintain required project/time reporting.\r\n\r\nRequired Qualifications\r\n\r\n10+ years of demonstrated experience in BI development, data engineering, ETL/ELT, data warehouse, data lake, enterprise data management, or closely related services.\r\nStrong knowledge of Oracle database development for batch applications in data warehouse or data lake environments.\r\nHands-on experience with data ingestion from multiple heterogeneous sources into on-premises and/or cloud data platforms.\r\nExperience using dbt, ODI, Oracle PL/SQL, Oracle SQL, and shell scripting to manage ETL/ELT processes.\r\nExperience developing dimensional hierarchies and data models for enterprise reporting.\r\nExperience creating, maintaining, processing, and analyzing large data volumes.\r\nExperience with data quality validation, reconciliation, and testing.\r\nKnowledge or hands-on experience with API development frameworks.\r\nKnowledge or hands-on experience with cloud-native data integration technologies.\r\nExperience supporting data lake migration from on-premises systems to cloud platforms.\r\n3+ years of experience building incremental models, handling raw data layers, and building dbt models for vendor/application data.\r\nProficiency in dbt development, including macros, hooks, incremental models, data quality tests, and model security.\r\nExperience converting complex Oracle stored procedures into modular dbt models.\r\nExpert-level knowledge of Git workflows, branching strategies, and CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment.\r\nStrong communication skills and ability to work with business stakeholders, vendors, and technical teams.\r\n\r\nDesired Qualifications\r\n\r\nPrevious experience working on LAUSD Data Lake systems or similar large education/public-sector data platforms.\r\nHands-on experience with Snowflake, AWS, or other cloud data platforms.\r\nExperience with Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) in enterprise environments.\r\nExperience modernizing legacy Oracle/PL SQL data processes into dbt-based models.\r\nExperience supporting cloud data migration, data validation, and data reconciliation activities.\r\nExperience working with vendor/application datasets and enterprise reporting requirements.\r\nStrong technical problem solver with deep Oracle, dbt, ETL/ELT, data warehouse, and data lake experience.\r\nExperience in Agile, DevOps, or CI/CD-enabled data delivery environments.\r\n\r\nEEO/AA Veterans and Individuals with Disabilities\r\nPhysical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to touch, handle or feel objects, tools or controls.
