The scope of this project is to provide LAN/WLAN network sustainment and operations services to the MHS MTFs and related activities, including DHA headquarters and training locations, inside the continental United States. This includes functions such as network performance measurement and monitoring, assistance with network design and development, network measurement. It also includes customer service in the form of trouble tracking and troubleshooting, at the Tier 2 and Tier 3 level, for escalated trouble tickets and maintenance and sparing support.\r\nPlan, install, and support hardware and software upgrades under senior guidance\r\nImplement network configuration changes per approved standards and change control\r\nMonitor network performance and respond to anomalies using monitoring tools\r\nSupport system integration activities and coordinate with application support teams\r\nManage ITSM ticket queues and resolve customer issues within SLA timeframes\r\nConduct monthly trend analysis and ticket query reporting\r\nSupport change request assessments and ensure 24-hour turnaround\r\nAssist with network inventory management and NMS compliance (98.5% accuracy)\r\nCoordinate with Network Specialists on daily operations and troubleshooting\r\nCreate and update technical documentation and work instructions\r\nParticipate in testing and validation of network changes\r\nProvide customer communication and technical support coordination\r\nOther Duties\r\nPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Duties, responsibilities and activities may change at any time with or without notice.\r\nRequirements\r\nDesired/Required Skills\r\nActive Department of Defense Secret level security clearance required.\r\nDoD Approved 8570 / 8140 OS and Cybersecurity certifications required.\r\nBachelor's degree in technical discipline and 3 years OR Technical/Vocational certification and 5 years\r\n4-5 years' relevant technical experience.\r\nProficient in normal networking protocols: TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, DHCP, SNMP\r\nWorking knowledge of Cisco IOS and network device configuration\r\nUnderstanding of 802.1d/q/w, 802.3, 802.11, and communication standards\r\nExperience with SolarWinds, monitoring tools, and network management platforms\r\nBasic network security: firewall rules, VPN concepts, IDS awareness\r\nCable testing, OTDR, and network diagnostic tools\r\nEthernet, Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet familiarity\r\nServiceNow or similar ITSM platforms\r\nRouted/switched LAN environment operations\r\nAbout the Company\r\nNexGen Data Systems is an emerging technologies focused company providing expert systems and network engineering solutions to the Department of Defense.
