Records, compiles and reduces laboratory data in real time in a complete and thorough manner for individual assignments. May produce reports.\n\nA. Job Duties\nEssential Functions:\n\nAbility to stand for long periods of time.\n\nBe able to lift a maximum of 40-60 lbs.\n\nBe able to work in a freezer (-25oC) for up to 1 hour at a time.\n\nWork independently with minimal supervision.\n\nMust be able to work with balances, meters, pumps, rotary evaporators, centrifuges, ovens, stir plates, and other standard analytical equipment.\n\nMust be able to reach low and high storage areas.\n\nMust be able to wash glassware used by the laboratory.\n\nMust be able to work with environmental samples like soils, plant parts, animal tissues, and pond water and sediment.\n\nKeep organized records.\n\nAdditional duties as assigned\n\nMarginal Functions:\n\nData entry on a computer.\n\nLift up to 100 lbs.\n\nBe able to work with respirator.\n\nBe able to work more than 8 hours per day, on occasion.\n\nPhysical Functions:\n\nSitting - 10%\n\nStanding - 80%\n\nReaching - 5%\n\nLifting, pushing, pulling, Grasping, pipetting - 25%\n\nWalking - 10%\n\nWriting - 15%\n\nVisual - 100%\n\nB. Chemical Safety\n\nMust be able to comprehend the potential hazards of the chemicals in use and adhere to the proper safety techniques as dictated by the Safety Manual and/or Management.\n\nC. Laboratory Safety\n\nMust be able to wear gloves, lab coat, eye protection, sleeves, hearing protection, pesticide suit, plastic booties, dust masks, a respirator and a face mask.\n\nMust be able to understand and follow laboratory safety standards.\n\nJob Specifications\nB.S. degree in chemistry or related field and 6 months of laboratory experience is preferred.
