Benefits are available to full-time employees.About the Role:As an Internal Medicine Licensed Veterinary Technician at PET, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and supporting pets through urgent and critical medical situations.Assist Internist with advanced diagnostic procedures, patient care, and case managementProvide nursing care for complex and chronic Internal Medicine cases, including hospitalized and outpatient patientsObtain detailed patient histories, monitor vital parameters, and collect diagnostic samplesAssist with advanced diagnostic and interventional procedures including upper and lower endoscopy and other minimally invasive proceduresCoordinate and assist with advanced imaging procedures including CT, ensuring appropriate patient preparation and monitoringAssist in anesthetic planning and monitoring for patients with multiple comorbidities undergoing diagnostic and interventional proceduresCalculate and manage continuous rate infusions (CRIs), fluid therapy, electrolyte supplementation, and medication administration for critically ill patientsPerform advanced medical calculations related to drug dosing and treatment protocolsProvide thorough client communication and education regarding diagnostics, treatment plans, and long-term case managementMaintain accurate and detailed medical recordsPerform proper patient restraint and handlingPrioritize and manage multiple cases while maintaining a high standard of care and supporting efficient patient flowQualifications:Active veterinary technician license required for LVTsMinimum 2+ years of veterinary technician experience, preferably in Internal Medicine or a specialty setting. Experience with advanced diagnostics and complex case management strongly preferredStrong technical skills including phlebotomy, catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, medication administration, and patient careAbility to work around anesthetic gases, chemicals, and zoonotic diseases. Comfortable working with animals, including those who are sick or stressed.
