Other duties may be assigned.\nStudy production orders to ascertain type and quantity of product and other packaging requirements.\nInterprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.\nInterprets specifications and job orders to workers, and assigns duties.\nObserve packaging operations.\nEstablishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.\nRecommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.\nSuggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of work crew.\nAnalyze and resolve work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.\nInitiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.\nMaintain time and production records.\nConfer with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments\nSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:\nDirectly supervises 20 to 60 employees in the Production Department. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.\nQUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\nEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:\nBachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.\nLANGUAGE SKILLS:\nAbility to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.\nMATHEMATICAL SKILLS:\nAbility to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.\nREASONING ABILITY:\nAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.\nCOMPUTER SKILLS:\nFamiliarity with the Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with ERP systems, Lotus Notes and Time and Attendance software.\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
