Transportation Dock Supervisor - PM

Newrest has an exciting position as a Transportation Dock Supervisor. This individual is responsible for overseeing the performance of the Dock Team. This individual ensures that the team members are trained and compliant to SOPs, meeting performance requirements, and executing duties in a safe and efficient manner according to expectations. This individual is also responsible for maintenance of the weekly schedule, reporting, ongoing coaching, and corrective actions. This position reports to the Dock Manager.Essential FunctionsMaintain weekly schedule, manage coverage needs, and request additional team members as need demands.Effectively delegate duties to Leads for coverage needs.Act proactively throughout the shift to ensure that Dock performance standards are met regarding staging, security checks, loading, and KDT times.Track daily team performance; provide daily and weekly reporting on KDT performance, security updates, and team performance metrics.Ensure that any flights with compressed or at-risk timelines are managed according to At-Risk Flight SOP.Build and lead a strong team that proactively manages the dock space while ensuring cleanliness, hygiene, and safety standards are met.Conduct or ensure daily communication meetings with team.Identify areas for improvement and develops action plans to increase performance.Coordinate with all related departments to ensure that all operational goals are met.Coach team members on performance so that individual, team, and departmental goals are met.Conduct corrective action meetings based on team member performance.Ensure that team members are up to date and compliant with training, safety initiatives, and safety culture.Practice and promote the 4 Core Newrest Values: Simplicity, Humility, Efficiency, and Responsibility.Maintain a sense of positivity and professionalism in their communications and execution of duties.Effectively complete all other duties as directed by management.Regular and timely attendance is expected for the position.Perform other duties as assigned.Education/Experience RequirementsBachelors in Operations, Logistics, Business Management, or related field preferred2-4 years’ experience in inflight catering or airport hub environment, manufacturing, logistics, or food industry managing employeesQualificationsStrong leadership experience with experience in turnaround environmentsStrong communication skills with ability to communicate with non-exempt to upper management levelsAbility to effectively handle conflict and de-escalate emotionally charged situationsGood understanding of OSHA, HR, and other employment lawsGood knowledge of investigation procedures and root cause analysisUnderstanding of lean manufacturing principles and operational processesStrategic thinker with creative and excellent problem solving and decision-making skillsResilient self-starter, who can act independently and learn quickly within a rapidly evolving environmentAptitude in showing self-initiative and follow-throughDetail-oriented and ability to see big pictureStrong ability with Excel, Word, and PowerPointExcellent organizational and motivational skillsOutstanding attention to detail and observation abilityStrong analytical skills for interpretation of data to effectively manage riskAbility to effectively collaborate with site operations, functional leaders and external clients and vendorsBenefits offered Free lunch every day Medical, dental, and vision insurance for you and your family Health Savings Accounts Life insurance paid by companyl Additional life insurance Short-term disability insurance Long-term disability insurance 401(k) with company match Employee Assistance Program Transportation assistance Paid Time Off Sick Leave Award Holiday pay Recognition and incentive programs
