This position prepares nutritious, high-quality meals for clients while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, sanitation, and customer service. The Weekend Chef ensures continuity of kitchen operations and supports a positive dining experience for clients with diverse dietary needs.\n\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\n\nPrepare healthy breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks for clients during weekend shifts.\n\nEnsure food is prepared, presented, and served in a timely manner.\n\nAccommodate special dietary requirements, including allergies, vegetarian, vegan, and other prescribed meal plans.\n\nMaintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, food preparation areas, and storage spaces.\n\nFollow local, state, and federal health and sanitation regulations.\n\nMonitor inventory levels and communicate purchasing needs to the Head Chef or management team.\n\nAssist with food ordering, receiving, and proper storage of food products.\n\nMaintain organization of kitchen supplies and equipment.\n\nEnsure compliance with food safety standards, Joint Commission requirements, HIPAA, and 42 CFR regulations.\n\nFoster positive relationships with clients and team members.\n\nSupport special events or culinary requests as needed.\n\nPerform other duties and projects assigned by management.\n\nQualifications\nRequired:\n\nFormal culinary training or equivalent professional cooking experience.\n\nPrevious experience working as a Chef, Cook, or related culinary role.\n\nCurrent ServSafe Certification or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe.\n\nKnowledge of food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.\n\nCurrent TB test.\n\nCPR/First Aid Certification or ability to obtain upon hire.\n\nStrong understanding of dietary restrictions and specialized meal preparation.\n\nExcellent communication, organization, and time-management skills.\n\nPreferred:\n\nExperience in healthcare, behavioral health, residential treatment, or hospitality settings.\n\nExperience preparing meals for groups and managing food costs and inventory.\n\nPassion for preparing healthy, high-quality meals.\n\nAbility to work independently with minimal supervision.\n\nStrong attention to detail and food presentation.\n\nPositive, energetic, and professional attitude.\n\nAbility to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced kitchen environment.\n\nExcellent interpersonal and customer service skills.\n\nPhysical Requirements\n\nAbility to stand and walk for extended periods.\n\nAbility to lift and carry up to 25 pounds regularly.\n\nAbility to bend, stoop, squat, reach, and perform repetitive kitchen tasks.\n\nAbility to safely work around hot surfaces, sharp utensils, and commercial kitchen equipment.\n\nThe position operates within a behavioral health and substance abuse treatment environment.
