The Structural Design Engineer will be working as a member of an integrated team responsible for designing and constructing a new testing facility for the United States Air Force Test Operations and Sustainment efforts.\nThis position is anticipated to last less than 12 months. With the possibility of extension.\nKey Duties:\nUnder general supervision of the Discipline Lead Engineer, serve as a design engineer and coordinate with other discipline and structural designers/drafters.\nAnalyze and make independent recommendations regarding technical solutions to problems of advanced complexity in accordance with project requirements.\nDevelop and review specifications and design criteria.\nPerform and check engineering analyses and calculations; specify materials, equipment, and systems; and solve technical problems of advanced complexity.\nCoordinate technical issues with other disciplines, project management, vendors, and clients.\nExecute work in compliance with Project Quality Plan and procedures.\nExecute work in accordance with the approved project scope, cost, and schedule baselines.\nDevelop and review estimates, schedules and progress reports including effort-hour estimating and staff forecasting.\nEstablish, control and report on material key quantities; provide analysis and forecasts.\nProvide technical support to activities associated with equipment and material procurement and subcontracting including scopes of work, technical bid evaluations and review of vendor submittals.\nProvide technical support to activities associated with construction administration including response to construction requests for information and field changes.\nIt is a condition of employment to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy.\n\nRequired Skills, Experience, and Education:\nDue to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration at this time.\nAbility to complete a pre-employment background check, breath alcohol test, and drug screening, which will include but is not limited to testing for marijuana use.\nThis is a sensitive/safety-sensitive position and is subject to DOT random drug and alcohol testing.\nMust be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance and access to the AEDC local area network.\n8 years of progressive and relevant experience.\nAdvanced knowledge of one or more of the following structural design software:\nSTAAD or STAADPro\nAnalyzing complex structures\nWind and seismic loading in structural calculations\nConcrete and foundation design\nComputer modeling and analysis experience.\nBachelor of Science degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.\nDesired Skills, Experience, and Education:\nProfessional Engineer license or certification preferred but not required.\nAny pre-screening/tests required (not including standard background/clearance checks).\nPerforming hand and computer calculations for foundations, concrete, and steel structures.\nAdvanced knowledge of commercial availability and cost of materials.\nDemonstrated experience managing and leading large projects.\nProficiency with project set-up, development of control-level schedules, progress reporting and project close-out.\nPractical field experience.\nEPC project experience for the following industries:\nU.S Department of Defense or other U.S. Federal Government Agency\nManufacturing, pharmaceutical or biotechnology\nBusiness Profile:\nCimarron is a global solutions company with a strategic partnering approach to satisfying customer-driven requirements.
