Incumbent will work with clients to request large sets of relevant data, clean this data to prepare for analysis, analyze data to look for insights and / or prepare data for reporting to government agencies and/or back to client. The incumbent will work closely with other analysts as well as attorneys who will guide work and review output.Duties and ResponsibilitiesAnalyze employment-related data sets using industry standard data analysis tools and applications like R and MS Excel.Compile and validate employment-related data from various sources, workbooks, and spreadsheets as provided by clients and attorneysAnalyze and ensure data is of high quality and thoroughness, running data cleaning methods and tests and working directly with clients as needed to obtain corrected dataFollowing prescribed internal guidelines and methods, use cleaned data to create government required workforce reporting across federal, state and/or local levels. Examples may include but are not limited to EEO-1, VETS, California Pay, Minnesota Department of Human Rights reporting, etc.Support attorneys in the preparation and defense of government-required reporting that may become subject to government auditResearch data sources as applicable to project needs (e.g., U.S. Census Bureau, Bureau of Labor Statistics)Prepare ad hoc reports, graphics, and presentations to address client needsCommunicate daily with clients and attorneysRequiredSkills and Educational RequirementsBS/BA or equivalent2+ years’ experience with human capital data and government-mandated reporting of sameStrong MS excel skills to include pivot tables, reference and lookup formulae, graphing, table management and limited VBA for ExcelStrong organization, problem-solving, critical thinking, analytical, and communication skillsAbility to apply practical knowledge to job by to following general instructions and guidelinesAbility to work independently with general supervision, influence others within the department through explanation of facts, policies and practicesHigh degree of personal accountability for resultsStrong attention to detailWillingness to work a flexible schedule, including overtime as necessaryPreferredExperience with programming languages and data manipulation tools such as Stata, R or PythonBackground in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or another quantitative fieldBackground in Human Resources dataKnowledge government required workforce and labor reportingExperience in analyzing and reconciling large data setsFor Colorado, the expected salary range for this Colorado position is between $35.20 hourly and $40.50 hourly.
