You will work with cross-functional teams to build robust and scalable test methodologies for embedded systems that meet the high-quality bar our customers expect.\n\nResponsibilities\nProvide technical expertise to the team through all aspects of testing embedded firmware across the product cycle and ensure all software is thoroughly tested.\nOwn communications with cross-functional teams and represent the team in technical discussions, design reviews, and project reviews.\nDesign comprehensive test strategies for embedded firmware projects, including black-box, white-box, stress, long-duration, integration, and system testing.\nWork with the team to develop automation plans that increase test efficiency, coverage, and repeatability.\nImplement tests during both pre-silicon and post-silicon phases of embedded firmware development.\nFind issues and triage/debug them in collaboration with embedded software, firmware, hardware, and systems teams.\nPresent test results, coverage, risks, and defect findings to product owners, internal customers, and software developers to assist in resolving issues.\n\nRequired Skills and Qualifications\nBS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering with a minimum of 8 years of experience, or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering with a minimum of 6 years of experience.\nStrong knowledge of embedded systems, embedded firmware, and Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS).\nExperience with a variety of MCU and DSP cores/processors and the software stacks that support them.\nStrong leadership skills with a consistent track record of delivering embedded software and firmware projects.\nProficiency with Python, shell, C, and C++, with hands-on experience developing reusable embedded test frameworks, test utilities, and hardware-in-the-loop test infrastructure.\nKnowledge and hands-on experience in embedded hardware or firmware system testing sufficient to design and execute test strategies, develop test plans, identify defects, and assess system-level functionality and reliability.\nKnowledge of requirements analysis and test case development, including interpreting technical requirements, deriving comprehensive test scenarios, and documenting traceable test cases with clear expected results.\nExperience automating functional, regression, integration, and system-level tests for embedded hardware or firmware, and analyze automated test results.\nAbility to debug embedded hardware or firmware using logs, traces, debuggers, instrumentation, and systematic root-cause analysis.\nExperience using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, logic analyzers, and spectrum analyzers for measurement and debugging of embedded systems.\nPreferred Skills and Qualifications\nExperience with Jira, SVN/Git, and continuous integration systems such as Jenkins.\nFamiliarity with defect management practices.\nFamiliarity with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).\nExperience with Agile Scrum software development.\nExperience developing and implementing embedded software and firmware tests on development boards.\nExperience validating embedded firmware across hardware, software, and system-level interfaces.\nExport control restrictions based upon applicable laws and regulations would prohibit candidates who are nationals of certain embargoed countries from working in this position without Cirrus Logic first obtaining an export license. Candidates for this role must be able to access technical data without a requirement for an export license.
