Maintenance Technician-Grounds/Utility

This is a full-time 40 hours per week position, Monday - Friday working from 7 a.m. - 4 p.m. The Maintenance Technician shall ensure basic upkeep of the buildings and grounds at all sites owned or leased by New Hope. This skilled work will include: all necessary repairs, scheduled checks, and preventative maintenance to ensure a safe and pleasant environment. Grounds keeping on New Hope properties include but is not limited to, trimming all trees and bushes, weed eating, edging sidewalks and parking areas, mowing, spraying weeds as well as weed control in landscape areas. All other aspects of grounds keeping. Other duties: painting, using a floor scrubber, reel cleaner, carpet shampooer, and assisting in delivering supplies. Must be willing to obtain a CDL, Class C with passenger endorsement. Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work alone. Must be detail-oriented, able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs, and have good communication and decision-making skills. Will participate in a rotating on-call system. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent, valid driver's license, lawn care and equipment operations, and related work. The knowledge or willingness to learn the use of custodial equipment. Experience: Lawn care and equipment operations and job knowledge of related work. Knowledge in appliance, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC repairs.
