This role requires a strong working knowledge of electrical systems, the ability to work independently or as part of a crew, and a commitment to safety, productivity, and quality workmanship.The Journeyman Electrician will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems while supporting foremen and project leadership to meet schedule and performance expectations.Key ResponsibilitiesInstall, maintain, and repair electrical systems including conduit, wiring, panels, lighting, motors, and controlsRead and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical drawingsPerform electrical terminations for panels, transformers, MCCs, and equipmentBend and install conduit (EMT, rigid, PVC)Troubleshoot electrical issues using meters and diagnostic toolsFollow NEC requirements and company safety standards at all timesAssist with layout and material planningWork independently or lead apprentices/helpers as neededMaintain clean, organized work areasCommunicate effectively with supervisors and crew membersSupport startup, testing, and commissioning activities when requiredRequired QualificationsJourneyman Electrician license (NC or reciprocal accepted)Minimum 4–6 years of commercial/industrial electrical experienceStrong understanding of NEC codes and jobsite safety practicesExperience with conduit bending and installationAbility to read electrical prints and schematicsProficient with hand tools, power tools, and testing equipmentReliable transportation to job sitesAbility to lift 50 lbs and work at heights, in lifts, or on laddersPreferred QualificationsIndustrial experience (plants, facilities, or manufacturing environments)Experience with motor controls, VFDs, or PLC-related wiringOSHA 10 or OSHA 30Leadership experience guiding apprenticesWhat QPS OffersCompetitive hourly pay (based on experience)Consistent local work in Rocky Mount and surrounding areasOpportunity for overtimeSafety-focused cultureCompany DescriptionQPS is a true multi-craft industrial contractor, providing the efficiency that comes from a single point of contact and allowing for tasks and projects to be carefully tracked and monitored and ensuring a timely and cost-effective completion that is measured in safety and quality of craftmanship. xhyhwjd Company DescriptionQPS is a true multi-craft industrial contractor, providing the efficiency that comes from a single point of contact and allowing for tasks and projects to be carefully tracked and monitored and ensuring a timely and cost-effective completion that is measured in safety and quality of craftmanship.
