Outreach Coordinator

The Outreach Coordinator is responsible for recruitment and retention of local partnerships of other organizations and groups. The OC will develop strategic partnerships with entities that can support and enhance the organization and services provided by Braata Production. The Community Outreach Coordinator works very closely with the Programs Coordinator and Executive Director.About Braata ProductionsBraata Productions is a multidisciplinary performing arts company founded in 2009. Named after the colloquial Jamaican term for “more,” Braata’s mission is to bring high-quality Caribbean folk culture into prominent New York City spaces through music, stories, movement, and theatre, while achieving greater recognition for the inherent beauty of Caribbean art and its larger influence on current culture. Through public performances and education programming, we give space and voice to the immigrant experience, and provide a platform for Caribbean performers, writers, and directors. Please peruse our website www.braataproductions.org to learn more.DescriptionJob Title: Outreach Coordinator Reports to: Executive Director Employment Classification: Employee, Part-TimeLocation: HybridPay: $25/hr- 10 hrs per week Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Subject to the policies and management directions established by the Executive Director, the duties of the Outreach Coordinator shall include:Community Partnerships - 50%Establish and cultivate strong, dynamic partnerships with local, regional, national, and international organizations (including churches, alumni associations, vivid groups, senior centers, social service agencies, Department of Homeless Services, community centers, after school programs, cultural institutions, CBOs, performing arts facilities, and schools)Facilitate communications and site visits with local partnersInvite local communities and stakeholders (including churches, senior centers & schools) to Braata events and performancesIdentify opportunities for local organizations to fundraise through Braata eventsSales 40%Manage and promote group sales to previous and prospective ticket sellers for upcoming events, serving as the primary liaison between patrons and internal teams Coordinate fundraising event partnerships with organizations such as schools and churches, guiding them through bulk ticket purchasing and resale processes.Support audience development efforts by expanding group attendance, ensuring smooth communication, sales tracking, and commission distribution.Engage community businesses in company-sponsored events ie. sponsorship procurementProgram Administration 5%Maintain contact databases for community partnerships, promoters/presenters, and ticket sales with detailed notes and booking informationAssist with research and development to find potential performance opportunities and new sales leads.Assist with preparation and distribution of solicitation materials and correspondencesEvent Support - 5%Participate and provide on site support during Braata eventsQualifications and Special Requirements:Associates’s degree and/or 2 to 3 years relevant experience in event planning or operations.Knowledge of, and experience working with large-scale events.Excellent communication skills.
