You will work closely with XR developers, data engineers, cybersecurity specialists, and stakeholders to deliver a production‑ready system capable of operating in controlled DoD environments.\n\nThis position is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of cloud engineering, secure system design, and real‑world operational impact.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nBackend & API Development\nBuild and maintain backend services using .NET Standard / .NET Core supporting customer workflows, document ingestion, OQE data capture, and real‑time performance tracking.\nDesign and implement API-first services for integration, logistics systems, digital instrumentation vendors, and legacy systems.\nDevelop secure data models\nImplement automated formatting and transmission of maintenance documentation (JSON, YAML, TXT, Navy‑specific formats).\nCloud Architecture & Microservices\nArchitect and deploy microservices in Azure Government Cloud, including AKS, App Services, Azure SQL, Redis Cache, and Storage Accounts.\nBuild containerized services using Docker, with secure image management and automated deployment pipelines.\nImplement event-driven and real-time data flows for instrumentation, spatial scanning, and OQE validation.\nSecurity & Compliance\nImplement DoD‑compliant authentication (MFA/SSO, identity federation, CAC/PKI integration).\nApply zero-trust principles, least-privilege access, and secure API design across all services.\nSupport system hardening and preparation for deployment into Navy shipyard environments.\n\nDevOps & Operations\nBuild and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, including automated testing, security scanning, and deployment to GovCloud.\nImplement monitoring and observability using Azure Monitor, App Insights, and log aggregation tools.\nSupport incident response, performance tuning, and operational readiness for a multi‑platform XR ecosystem.\nCollaboration & Integration\nWork with XR developers to ensure backend services support spatialized data\nCollaborate with vendors to integrate disparate systems through API calls.\nParticipate in stakeholder demos, usability evaluations, and iterative refinement cycles.\nRequired Skills & Experience\nStrong experience with C#, .NET Core, .NET Standard, and RESTful API development.\nHands-on experience with Azure Cloud, ideally including:\nAzure Kubernetes Service (AKS)\nAzure App Services / Functions\nAzure SQL & Storage Accounts\nAzure Key Vault\nAzure Communication Services\nProficiency with Docker and containerized microservice architecture.\nFamiliarity with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps preferred).\nExperience with authentication/authorization frameworks (OAuth2, OpenID Connect, SSO, MFA).\nStrong understanding of secure data transmission, serialization formats, and API interoperability.\nAbility to work in an agile, iterative development environment with cross-functional teams.\nQualifications\nBachelor's degree - Computer Science, Computer Engineering\n5 or more years of experience in Software Development\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience deploying to Azure Cloud or other IL4/IL5 environments.\nExperience building secure systems aligned with NIST 800‑171, NIST 800‑53, or other regulated frameworks.\nBackground integrating with legacy enterprise systems or logistics platforms.\nImpact of the Role\n\nYour work will directly support the modernization of Navy shipyards, enabling maintainers to learn, practice, and execute complex procedures with higher accuracy, reduced rework, and improved readiness.
