You will be responsible for deploying, managing, and optimizing AWS and hybrid infrastructure , with a strong emphasis on automation, security, compliance, and mission continuity for critical workloads.\n\nThis role is ideal for someone who is hands‑on, outcomes‑driven, and comfortable collaborating across engineering, security, networking, and data teams to deliver stable, secure, and scalable infrastructure in regulated environments.\n\nAutomate provisioning and lifecycle management of AWS services—including identity, compute, storage, backups, networking, logging, and monitoring —using Terraform or similar Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.\n\nDeploy, configure, harden, and maintain infrastructure across AWS and hybrid environments following secure baseline standards.\n\nStandardize reusable IaC modules, promote best practices, and improve environment consistency across dev/test/prod.\n\nDevOps Enablement & Operational Excellence\n\nBuild and enhance CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps workflows using tools such as Git, Terraform, Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline, and Docker .\n\nTroubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and automation issues to ensure reliability, performance, and mission continuity .\n\nImplement operational visibility with logging/monitoring improvements and actionable dashboards (as applicable to your environment).\n\nSecurity, Compliance, and Resilience\n\nApply cybersecurity best practices and support zero-trust and compliance-aligned infrastructure operations (e.g., NIST, CIS, ISO 27000 ).\n\nCollaborate with security and networking teams to implement secure configurations, change controls, and audit-ready operational processes.\n\nSupport business continuity and disaster recovery (DR) requirements and operational readiness.\n\nWork closely with engineering, security, networking, and application teams to support mission needs and delivery timelines.\n\nPartner with data engineers and scientists to enable infrastructure needs for data pipelines and machine learning workflows .\n\nMaintain high-quality engineering documentation including SOPs , system diagrams, and secure configuration baselines.\n\nSummarize and present findings and recommendations—both written and verbal to technical and non-technical stakeholders.\n\nQUALIFICATIONS\n\nMust be able to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal or DoD \"PUBLIC TRUST\"; candidates must obtain approved adjudication of their PUBLIC TRUST prior to onboarding with Guidehouse. Candidates with an ACTIVE PUBLIC TRUST or SUITABILITY are preferred.\n\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering, IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).\n\nMinimum SIX (6) years of hands‑on experience in AWS , cloud infrastructure, and/or enterprise IT operations.\n\nStrong hands‑on expertise with Terraform for AWS infrastructure automation.\n\nExperience building and operating CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices with tools such as Git, Terraform, Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline, Docker.\n\nStrong scripting skills in Python and Bash .\n\nWorking knowledge of cybersecurity best practices, zero-trust concepts , and compliance frameworks such as NIST, CIS, ISO 27000 .\n\nExperience using AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Cursor, Kiro ) to accelerate delivery while maintaining strict quality via testing, reviews, and security practices.\n\nSelf‑starter mindset with the ability to work independently and collaboratively across Engineering, DevOps, and Architecture functions.\n\nEligibility for Public Trust and ability to complete federal background screening.\n\nPREFERRED EXPERIENCE\n\nAWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional (or equivalent).\n\nCompTIA Security+.\n\nExperience provisioning and implementing data pipelines for lakehouse platforms such as Databricks or AWS services including S3, Lake Formation, Glue, and Athena .\n\nAbility to design and optimize AWS data solutions, including migration pipelines, ETL workflows, and serverless architectures .\n\nExperience with monitoring and SIEM tools such as CloudWatch and Splunk .\n\nExperience supporting enterprise business continuity and disaster recovery (DR) solutions.\n\nCompensation Range: The salary range provided is determined by market value, internal equity, and the candidate's experience and qualifications.
