Applicants are considered regardless of race, sex, age, religion, color, national origin, ancestry, disability, genetic information, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, military and veteran status, or other protected category under applicable law.\nResponsibilities Reviews and supports the delivery of engineering projects from planning and design through construction and closeout.\nLeads, prepares, reviews, and coordinates engineering drawings, technical specifications, reports, design criteria, cost estimates, schedules, and other project deliverables.\nPerforms technical design, interdisciplinary coordination, constructability, code compliance, and quality assurance/quality control reviews for engineering plans and specifications.\nInterprets and applies applicable engineering codes, regulations, Airport standards, policies, procedures, and industry best practices across multiple engineering disciplines.\nAdministers, updates, and supports implementation of the Airport’s Architectural and Engineering Standards, including coordination with technical stakeholders and project teams.\nDevelops, implements, and improves engineering procedures, design review processes, QA/QC practices, templates, checklists, and project delivery tools.\nSupervises, directs, assigns, and reviews the work of engineering staff, technical personnel, consultants, and other project stakeholders.\nProvides mentorship, technical guidance, leadership, and professional development support to engineering staff to improve performance, accountability, consistency, and design quality.\nPrepares technical and administrative reports, recommendations, presentations, budget documents, and other written materials related to engineering projects, programs, policies, and procedures.\nParticipates in the preparation, review, and management of project budgets, consultant scopes, contract documents, procurement materials, cost estimates, and funding requirements.\nEvaluates design alternatives, performs value engineering, reviews market and cost trends, and recommends solutions that improve cost effectiveness, constructability, maintainability, sustainability, reliability, and operational performance.\nQualifications Education: Completion of a four (4) year college or university with a baccalaureate degree in one of the major fields of engineering.\nExperience: Six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in administrative, design, planning and construction of engineering projects, including two (2) years of responsible supervisory and administrative experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.\nDesirable Qualifications:\nPossession of a Certificate of Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of California in one of the following disciplines: civil, mechanical, electrical, chemical (environmental/sanitary), or transportation (traffic).\nDemonstrate experience using Autodesk AutoCAD and Revit to develop, review, coordinate and manage engineering drawings, design models, and construction documents.\nAll work experience, education, training and other information substantiating how you meet the minimum qualifications must be included with your application by the filing deadline.
