Requisition ID: 179330Job Level: Senior LevelHome District/Group: Kiewit Building GroupDepartment: EstimatingMarket: BuildingEmployment Type: Full TimePosition OverviewKiewit Building Group is looking for a Project Estimator that can assist the estimating team with various estimates more than $30 million for vertical buildings in the markets of commercial, education, sports, healthcare, mixed use, multifamily, and government installations.District OverviewKiewit Building Group specializes in vertical construction, we build office buildings, industrial complexes, education and sports facilities, hotels, hospitals, transportation terminals, government buildings, science and technology facilities, retail and special-use facilities, and extensive interior construction with tenant improvements. Our capabilities include all facets of construction and engineering including general contracting, construction management, design-build, design-assist and turn-key project development.LocationThis position will be based out Kiewit Building Group's office in Federal Way, WA.ResponsibilitiesDevelop complete estimates for large, complex jobs.Review owner plans and specifications to develop a comprehensive understanding of the project; develop plan for the actual construction to serve as basis for the estimate.Reviewing and assisting with proposals and other documentation to prepare cost estimatesReviews all bid and contract documents and home office legal department opinions.Conduct site investigation prior to forming a plan of operations to identify any problems or conditions of an unusual nature that may be present.Stay abreast of trends and developments, such as new equipment, methods and procedures that are developing in the industry.Become proficient in Kiewit's estimating program, "InEight Estimate".Provide leadership and strategy in subcontractor and vendor selection processConsult with owners on various problems discovered during bid preparation, design, rates, schedules, etc.QualificationsUndergraduate or graduate degree in mechanical, electrical, civil or construction-related technology, OR extensive and related work experience leading to a thorough understanding of the knowledge, skills and abilities described above.5+ years' related experienceExtensive knowledge and demonstrated experience with complex Vertical Building projectsExceptionally strong attention to detail, communication, interpersonal and leadership skillsDemonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office products (e.g. Excel, Work, Outlook, PowerPoint)Ability to perform duties in wide-ranging physical and climatic conditions, heights and negotiation of complex stair structures#LI-TD28Other Requirements:Regular, reliable attendanceWork productively and meet deadlines timelyCommunicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environmentPerform work safely and effectively.
