This individual serves as the highest level of engineering escalation and plays a key role in designing and implementing\r\nscalable, secure, and highly available network solutions\r\nacross corporate offices, data centers, and cloud environments. The Network Engineer III partners closely with infrastructure, security, and cloud teams to support business operations and technology initiatives.\r\nKey Responsibilities\r\nNetwork Engineering\r\n* Design and implement enterprise network solutions across\r\nLAN, WAN, SD-WAN, and data center environments\r\n* Develop scalable architectures to support\r\nhigh availability, performance, and resiliency\r\n* Lead the deployment of routing, switching, and network security technologies\r\nAdvanced Troubleshooting\r\nServe as Tier 3 escalation for complex network incidents and outages\r\nPerform deep packet and flow analysis and root cause investigations\r\nResolve issues related to routing, latency, connectivity, and network performance\r\nNetwork Operations Support\r\nSupport operational teams with complex network troubleshooting\r\nParticipate in major incident response and post-incident reviews\r\nAssist with capacity planning and performance optimization\r\nInfrastructure Modernization\r\nLead upgrades and modernization projects such as\r\nSD-WAN deployments\r\nNetwork segmentation initiatives\r\nCloud network integration\r\nData center network upgrades\r\nDocumentation & Standards\r\nMaintain architecture diagrams and technical documentation\r\nEstablish configuration standards and best practices\r\nSupport change management and operational procedures\r\nCross-Functional Collaboration\r\n* Partner with:\r\n* Security teams\r\non segmentation, compliance, and risk management\r\n* Cloud teams\r\non hybrid and multi-cloud networking\r\n* Application teams\r\nto ensure performance, scalability, and reliability\r\n* Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions\r\nGovernance & Standards\r\nMaintain architecture documentation, diagrams, and runbooks\r\nParticipate in governance forums (CAB, architecture review boards)\r\nInnovation & Continuous Improvement\r\nIdentify opportunities to improve\r\nNetwork resiliency and performance\r\nOperational simplicity and automation\r\nLead proof-of-concepts (POCs) and pilot programs\r\nRequired Qualifications\r\n* Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field\r\n* 7+ years of experience in network engineering\r\n* Hands-on experience with:\r\n* Routing & switching (BGP, OSPF, MPLS)\r\n* Data center networking (leaf-spine, EVPN/VXLAN)\r\n* WAN / SD-WAN architectures\r\n* Network security, segmentation, and firewalls\r\n* Hands-on experience with:\r\n* Cisco (ACI), Aruba\r\n* Fortinet / Palo Alto\r\n* F5 (load balancing)\r\n* Infoblox (DNS/DHCP/IPAM)\r\n* Experience designing\r\nlarge-scale, multi-site or retail networks\r\nPreferred Qualifications\r\nCertifications such as (any of the following):\r\nCisco professional certifications\r\nPalo Alto professional certifications\r\nFortinet professional certifications\r\nAruba professional certifications\r\nF5 professional certifications\r\nKey Competencies\r\nAdvanced troubleshooting skills\r\nAbility to mentor junior engineers\r\nStrong documentation and communication skills\r\nSuccess Metrics\r\n* Review and validate enterprise network diagrams and documents within\r\n90 days\r\n* Participate in delivery of key transformation initiatives:\r\n* Retail store network modernization\r\n* Data center transformation\r\n* Reduce network-related incidents through improved support workflow\r\n* Improve cost efficiency via standardization and vendor optimization\r\n\"Projected Salary Range: $99,000 - $111,500\".\r\nFamily Dollar is an equal opportunity employer and committed to recruiting, hiring, training, and promoting qualified people of all backgrounds, and make all employment decisions without regard to any protected status.
