Science Teacher
Job Type Full-time Description The science teacher will be responsible for 7th-grade science advanced as well as biology honors and standard for 9th grade. The science teacher must communicate effectively through a relational approach, encouraging students to take risks in learning and demonstrate learning in innovative ways. The science teacher is a part of the secondary faculty and reports to the secondary principal. All faculty members are expected to contribute to chapel and other spiritual development activities and other duties as assigned. Major Responsibilities:Prepare appropriate weekly lesson plans, including instructional objectives, learning activities, and assessments integrated with biblical foundationsUtilize appropriate educational technologyCreate and evaluate appropriate instructional and assessment methods to measure student learningMaintain appropriate pacing per the curriculum guideMaintain a collaborative relationship with all members of the science department and other facultyDemonstrate the maturity to inspire student learning and understanding of the age groupMaintain a positive classroom environment, conducive to learning yet open to questioning and participationEffectively communicate and partner with parents in the educational and spiritual development of studentsSupport school initiatives and show support for student interests outside of the school day Requirements Requirements/Qualifications:Possess a minimum of a bachelor's degree in science, chemistry, or a related content areaPossess or be qualified to apply for a Professional Teaching Certificate from the Florida Department of EducationExhibit a strong faith and exemplary lifestyle.Must be able to establish and maintain effective professional relationshipsHave experience using classroom technology, electronic resources, programs, and platformsAbility to accept direction and professional developmentAbility to exercise good judgmentMust submit to a background check Background Requirements:Background Check conducted through the Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse https://info.flclearinghouse.com .
