About This PositionThe City of Phoenix Water Services Department (WSD), one of the nation's largest potable water utilities, treats and delivers safe, reliable drinking water to 1.5 million customers across approximately 540 square miles. Phoenix Water Services also manages the sewer collection system and treats wastewater for 2.5 million residents in metropolitan Phoenix.The WSD's Internal Business Support Division is currently seeking a Supplies Clerk II to perform manual and clerical work in regard to the requisition, receipt, inspection, storage, issuance, and ordering of supplies, parts, tools, and equipment. Responsibilities include handling supplies, parts, and equipment including pick-up and delivery. Some positions may exercise supervisory duties in the absence of the assigned supervisor.Additional ResponsibilitiesVerify accuracy of invoices, inventory, and identification of property, supplies, and materials.Inspect incoming materials for quality and quantity against purchase documents.Maintain and reconcile inventory records through periodic counts.Receive, store, and issue general or specialized goods and supplies.Enter and verify inventory data using computer systems.Ensure security and proper handling of supplies and equipment.Review items against specifications and identify appropriate substitutes.Communicate with vendors for quotes and order placement.Prepare purchase orders, requisitions, and related documentation.Conduct research and follow-up on receipt and payment of goods/services.Demonstrate reliable attendance and exceptional customer service.IDEAL CANDIDATEAbility to work independently.Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service.Knowledge of computer processing and Microsoft Office programs.SALARYPay Range: $20.51 to $28.86 per hourHiring Range: $20.51 to $27.49 per hour.Pay Range ExplanationPay range is the entire compensation range for the position classification.Hiring range is an estimate of where you can receive an offer. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, training, and internal equity.Promotions occur when the last two digits of the pay grade increase.Demotions occur when the last two digits of the pay grade decrease.Lateral transfers occur when there is no change to the last two digits of the pay grade.When there is a change in the first digit of the pay grade, there may also be a change to your classification or unit. Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid driver's license and have an acceptable driving record.
